Does static level change with yoke movement, or just the trim?  Perhaps one of the yokes is disturbing wiring behind the panel?

We meticulously checked for any wire interference with yoke movement.  None. Static occurs when any plane movement happens, not just either the yoke or the trim.  So yes, when you move the yoke or trim there is static during the motion, but even when they are undisturbed and you jiggle the plane there is static.

Have you tried pulling the radios and the audio panel and cleaning their contacts? Mine gets scratchy sometimes and if I violently shake the audio panel back and forth in the panel, the scratchy goes away.

Radios, audio panel and even the autopilot removed and contacts including coaxes cleaned.

Cool, have you tried crawling under the panel and wiggling all the wires? You should crawl under your panel every few weeks just for the exercise!

Every wire wiggled under the panel, under the glareshield and also via the cowl access panels (M20F).

Maybe the problem isn't directly related to the yoke position but rather the resulting position of the tail or one of the pushrods in the belly.

You still have battery and solenoid a in the circuit.  Solenoids do break down over time.  Try banging around the battery box and or battery solenoid.  Don't forget you also have power coming up to your master switch looking for a ground to switch that battery relay.  if you can still duplicate with the handheld radio, I would still recommend taking the battery and its solenoid out of the loop, seems you have not tried this yet.

Just to clarify, what exactly do you mean by "rid myself of the demons".  We're still talking about planes ? Yes? :D

We cleaned all of the battery/solenoid terminals. but didn't remove the battery.  That might be next, but we're heading to the US midwest tomorrow morning so I'll have to live with the static for a couple of weeks.

1975 F model demonic possessions are some of the most difficult to exorcise. I spent many hours chanting and praying for the demons to leave only to find myself in front of a real exorcist (a.k.a. avionic tech).

Make sure those Cannon connectors have been checked as well. Here is another video to cheer you up. This one led me to remove the Narco. Listen to the disgust in my voice:
