April Mooney Breakfast Flight - Delaware Coastal (KGED) Georgetown, DE, Sunday April 10th - 9:00 Arrival

This Sunday, April 10, 2015 will be the Mooney April Breakfast Flight.  KGED @ 9:00 AM for breakfast.  All aircraft are welcome, we simply started as a Mooney Breakfast Flight (we now have other aircraft including Bonanzas, a Tiger, C-182, and C-414 on the list).  We randomly go back and forth from Saturday to Sunday.   If you are not still at Sun 'n Fun or couldn't make it down there, come have breakfast with your Mooney brethren.

Last month we had a great turnout: 7 Mooney’s, 2 Bonanza’s, and a 182 for a total of 15 people.  I personally loved the arranged P-51 and T-6 entertainment.

This month, our destination is Delaware Coastal (KGED) - Georgetown, Delaware.  The restaurant on the field, Arena’s, is located in the main terminal and gas is priced favorably.  It’s $3.99 right now, only full service, and when you eat at the restaurant, you get a 10 cent discount.  So $3.89.  Plus, if you fly in from out of state, you can apply for a 23 cent per gallon refund by filling out a form and sending in your receipt (state tax refunded for out of state guests).  So if you turn in the form, that’s $3.67.

We’ll plan for a 9:00 AM arrival.  Weather is currently forecast for Sunny Skies with a high of 50 degrees Fahrenheit – We’ll of course watch it.  Please RSVP if you can attend or not so I can come up with a count for the restaurant.  If your airplane is not airworthy this weekend, let me know so we can match you up with another pilot – guests are always welcome.

The Monthly Mooney Breakfast Flights began with the eight Mooney Pilots at KGAI and has expanded to the entire Mid-Atlantic region.  Each month a location in the Mid-Atlantic region will be chosen and a date will be set for the breakfast flight.  Breakfast will typically be a 9:00 AM arrival.  I'll work to procure fuel discounts when possible.  Posts to MooneySpace and the NJ Mooney Pilots group will be made as soon as possible.

Please RSVP so I can let the restaurant, Arena's know the approximate head count.  See you Sunday!

Take care,

-Seth

We have a pilot who's bird is in the shop and would love a pickup from LDJ, MMU, or CDW.

Pilots name is Aman.  Let me know if you are willing to give him a ride and I'll PM the contact information.

Thanks!

Fly in breakfast is set for Sunday.  Weather looks good. Sunny with a high of 50.

We have 5 aircraft and 7 individuals attending as of now.  We'll have a lot to talk about regarding all the great aviation announcements from Sun 'N Fun!

Well, it was an interesting turn out. A couple of Mooneys showed up with passengers but they didn't want to sit with us (have no idea why since Stinky Pants wasn't there), at least 2 Mooneys bailed due to mechanical issues and another for family reasons.

Also got to see this bad boy.

Actually it was a 4 seater!

It had a second row of passenger seats tucked back there pretty far.  I'm not sure if they had ever been used, but that's pure speculation and I doubt they'd be legal to use during any aerobatic encounters.

So in the end we had 6 Mooney's, 5 individuals at our table and another table of 4 who initially said hello, but stayed to themselves.  Evidently they fly in every Sunday morning for brunch.

I'll post May once I figure out where and when.  Any suggestions?  I was thinking Flying W.
