Tony Armour Posted December 25, 2015 Report Posted December 25, 2015 We got our loan for our first Mooney, a 201 from our banker Mr. Sam Moody so it was always called Mr. Moody. This one naturally is Mr. moody2. Luckily the name has nothing to do with reliability........ It nor my car are ever referred to as lady's. Too fast for that ! The car makes around 1200 hp, that is no "her" :-) Quote

Cyril Gibb Posted December 25, 2015 Report Posted December 25, 2015 The girlfriend didn't like me calling it the mistress, so she named the plane Gladys. C-GNPP ..... if you're old enough to have been a Motown fan, you'll get it (poetic license with the "K") 2 Quote

Amelia Posted December 26, 2015 Report Posted December 26, 2015 (edited) Mostly I call it The, as in The Mooney. or The plane. But it has a real name, thanks to my small children, who were great Dr. Seuss fans. One favorite in particular was Marvin K. Mooney, Will You Please GO NOW. We read it at least once a day for a couple of toddler years. So our K- Mooney became Marvin. Edited December 26, 2015 by Amelia 2 Quote
Parker_Woodruff Posted December 30, 2015 Report Posted December 30, 2015 My first Mooney was Big Red. My second one never obtained a name. Quote
orionflt Posted December 30, 2015 Report Posted December 30, 2015 "Luna C" was derived from luna for mooney and C for the model, at least that is what I believe, my wife named the plane! Brian 2 Quote

I didn't know the connection 'til I just Googled it. On the other hand, the psychic telemarketers @ 4.95 a minute is probably close to the repairs/upgrades/hangar/insurance/annuals/other variable costs per minute my Gladys needs. 1 Quote
