  1. I’m at the tail end of a panel upgrade and I know I’ll need to sit in the plane pushing buttons some. What is a good option for ground power that is not stupid expensive? Also, on the M20E what plug do I need for the power receptacle? I don’t have access to my plane easily to look. What we started with to what we finished with! Garmin G3X w/EIS Garmin GFC500 Garmin GTN650 Garmin GMA345 Garmin SL30 Garmin G5 Garmin 345GTX Should bring the airplane home from the shop next week.   5. Always be prepared for the weather to change. My last flight the forecast at my destination was clear and light winds. When I got there I had to shot an approach through a dust storm and winds were 35 gusting to 53 straight down the runway. That normally 2 hour flight ended up being 3.5 hours of the most miserable, bumpy flying I’ve ever done. Great write up! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. Airports that has air carrier service tend to have slightly better security. I try and cover my plane or at least put the window shades in place. Other than that, all door locks do is keep an honest man honest. If someone is intent on stealing about the only thing that will stop them is another person there to physically keep them from doing it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Lasar, Don Maxwell, Southwest Texas Aviation, Dugosh Aviation are all Mooney Service Centers that might have the parts you need. Alan Fox is easy and great to deal with.   14. I’d add that its not necessarily my confidence that has wained over the years, (when I’m current) its my tolerance for being uncomfortable that has. I fly for fun, I have no need to go voluntarily bounce around in high winds or marginal weather. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  19. I’ve got a set of the CoverCraft sheepskin covers. They fit nicely and are comfy. The only complaint I have is seats are kind of hard to move due to the carpeted sidewalks and the sheepskin rubbing on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  24. I just got an estimate back from a shop to install 2 G-5’s (AI and HSI) and a GFC500 and remove the vacuum system and old brittian autopilot. The estimate was just shy of $28,000. This seems like a reasonable price considering the AP has everything but yaw damper included. What does MS think? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I’ll do pretty much everything that needs to be done with my IA’s supervision. My limiting factor is that I don’t have a hangar to work in, I’m under a hail shed, so I need to be able to close it up at night and fabricating anything takes a bit of time. I’m about to start the annual this week and there is a list of avionics upgrades I had planned but those are on the back burner now due to the avionics shop on the field deciding they didn’t want the work.
