I just made it home from the Mooney summit.  600+ miles of clear skys and tail wind on a westbound trip.  I couldn't ask for better weather.   My wife and I really enjoyed the Mooney Summit.  It was also fun to put a face to some of the folks.  Hope to see you all there again next year.

Abe will be setting up an ftp server or Dropbox For all the Pictures I asked Vishnu to take during the event.

I want to express my gratitude to all of our subject matter experts, attendees, the Dubins, Bridget and especially my beautiful wife Alice for placing your faith this concept and allowing the Mooney Summit II to redefine what aviation gatherings should be and giving me the freedom to execute the plan.

Take note, aviation world, Mooney owners are the best. We are no longer the penny pinching self absorbed narcissists group mooney ownership once cast you in.

I am truly blown away by your kindness and generosity. Soon, we will have an execution plan for the Bill Gilliland foundation and I will be sending out a post event followup communication.

This Summit, Each of you stood tall with me in my healing process. Thanks

The FTP should be stood up by Tuesday. We'll share everything there and let everyone dig in and see what they missed.

I sure hope Jolie shares the dinner pics from last night that went Viral on Facebook!

This was a great event, and Mike, Dr. Ron D and all who contributed made it a massive success. I cannot wait on the next one. Even my wife came home with a revised goal of not only being a proficient spouse in the right seat, but also to pursue her PVT license as well. What a great weekend, and so much learned from all the Subject Matter Experts.

Bob, you gotta stop teasing us with your panel pics, my wife now knows what you look like, you influence on our finances may make you a target now.

It was great meeting so many new faces and reconnecting with Mooney Family members I hadn't seen in a while.

Gary, (Fantom), I kept missing the elusive Don Muncy, too. I saw him and then he'd disappear when I'd go back to chat with him. It was like he was on skates or something lol.

(Sorry we never caught each other for more than a "Hey!" in passing, Don. Hopefully you are coming to Brunswick in two weeks and we can catch up then)

~Abe

Geez guys, I didn't know I was hard to find. I admit I did leave early today.

Sorry Abe, I don't think I can do Brunswick.  I am sorry I didn't get to spend some visiting time with you.

And Fantom, sorry I didn't get to meet you personally.

I'm going to ask Mike to make our name tags with our names more prominent next year. I feel like I spent a lot of time looking down trying to make out names on the tags.

And maybe include the forum names under the real names so we can match them up more easily.

And Mike, You are very welcome for the cube. Just a small token to express our appreciation for your efforts in putting the Summit together.

Hi Don,

You were not that hard to find! I met you on Saturday. I wish we could have chatted more. I was looking forward to hearing details about you valve cover emergency.

FWIW, I saw and talked to Don several times (and got one of his crystals in the door prize drawings - beautiful.) as well as Abe and Amelia, Jolie, Mitch, DMax, Trey Hughes and several others.

Glad to hear some are going to be @ SSI. DrBill and Jeff Schlueter are heading up the Mooney presence with Amelia and me committed to spending time helping out. I'm sure they'd like to have more involved.

Not sure what the "paging Don Muncy" was. Did I miss a joke, or something else.

Count yourself lucky, if you missed any of my bad jokes, Don.

I was just looking for you.

Great work Mike.  Thanks!!!!

It was great to meet some of the people behind the keyboards.

Give us an early heads up for the dates next year that way we can plan or calendars.

It took some convincing but my wife finally agreed to go and she ended up enjoying herself.  :)

Didn't think the first Summit could be outdone but Mr. Elliott did it even as he might not be 100% recovered. Can't imagine what's in store for Summit III.

Not bad at all, Mike

BTW, the PCB mayor/area promoter in chief spoke for several minutes Saturday morning. I used to get to Destin years ago but had never been to PCB. A pretty impressive area with a huge new investment in infrastructure including a gorgeous new airport. The FBO was friendly and professional. The linemen are well trained and safety is obviously very important.

We would go back.

Thank you very much, John. Ron (rocketman) and I will plan for next October, possibly the 3rd weekend. One of our primary objectives of engaging the non flying spouse so they can have a great time also appears once again to have been met. The next Summit is already being planned by the delegation of task responsibilities to others so that it becomes even more seamless. David Kayden and his bride Debbie Young are handling the sound and lighting, Abe has graciously stepped up and will take over the IT/Data chores. Neil Cohen will oversee communication, Ron will be local facilities, Alice and Jolie will b service administrators for the Bill Gilliland foundation, David Kayden with the aid of Zeke Durica will navigate the formation of the 501 (c3). CarolAnn will be flight activity head instructor, I, well, I guess Ill go sit on the beach finally :) Once I put together a work plan, Ill have more activites one could be be voluntold for.

I always learn so much and meet so many wonderful intelligent people, I myself cant wait for the next one!

Wow Mike, your energy and generosity is inspiring. Can't wait to see what you do when you're completely healed!

I am completely healed, Bob. Still a bit sore, but healed. Now, I just have to go prove this to the FAA. You guys saw me, heard me, and observed my cognitive abilities. Getting the FAA to re-issue me my 2nd class should not be an issue if it just doesn't stall out on a desk somewhere in OKC. I plan to have my own skills really put thru a regiment as soon as I can "legally safely" with Ms. Garratt as I owe it to myself, my lovely wife, and to all of my fantastic students to be the best. I owe it to the institution of the Master Instructors. Boyd Birchler commented to me "Heck, if I were the FAA I would give you a 2nd class medical for life, your one tough old geezer"

Suffice it to say, I want to do this right, and want to do this as soon as possible. I have a lot of friends counseling me in this process.

Mike, Boyd is right, sorry if I implied otherwise. :) Nancy and I sure enjoyed the chance to get better acquainted with Judy & Boyd, Alice and you at the dinner Saturday evening!

just got back this afternoon.  With the fuel discount, 100LL was $5.30/gallon.  Not too bad at all.  We had a great time.  I sounded like a stuck record talking about the gorgeous weather.  Thanks again Mike and everyone else who helped put this together.

Don, Rocketmans staff cranked out the name badges this year and Fantom introduced a very nice plastic with magnetic fastener He and I and Alice were wearing. There was a line to add your mooneyspace handle on the ones Rons staff did. Frankly, that was one of the most difficult tasks for me the first time, keeping up with additions and cancellations. I hear your request for larger name Font.

Mike and I had a plan to make the plastic badges for everyone, but it's a cumbersome process. Plus the material cost, before labor, is about $5 each. The magnet being the most expensive item.

We have an initial plan for Mooney Summit III, but i'm not sure Mike remembers it after all that wine Saturday night. ;)

I had a great time, and I think everyone else did too. If anyone has little tweaks to add to the process to improve it even further, they should post them.

I would toss out the idea of establishing a bulletin board at some location for posting notes. Things like "getting a group together to ___________; meet here at 3:00 if you are interested."  Or "Don Muncy, I want to talk to you. Hang around here at !0:00"

I'll send out a debrief email soon to the attendees and sponsors. Part of this will be an evaluation and suggestions request. This will help me gather and implement constructive thoughts vs just posting here. Don, be careful, you could be voluntold to help soon! (Glad you had a great time!)

Mike, for those of us who have to "stake out" out vacations a year in advance, it would be great if the dates for the next summit could be published earlier.  I know you and the Dr. have your own schedules to worry about, but I really don't want to miss another one!

Thanks for all you do!
