Has anyone been talking to Bruce about his new STC that is pending? An $8,000 brand new interior that has fasteners to easily remove and reinstall the interior panels. The pictures look really nice.

I personally don't like it.  I like the original done by Aero Comfort.

Easy removal sounds nice though.

I think it looks good. More importantly, I like the space it opens up.

I'd never pay 8k for that though. That's between 10 and 30% of the value of the target aircraft they want to install it in! Rediculous!

I talked to him about 2 years ago about it. At theat time he was saying $2K and was waiting on the STC to be approved.

It is just for the bottom of the window down. He reuses the window trim.

I agree it's way too much money for what's essentially bottom side panels, but it's not the price. It's the looks. I think it looks kind of cheesy! Maybe it's all the excessive use of pockets up high and in your face along with those wooden pax armrests from the 60's! And where are the pilot & copilot armrests?

Also I'm not convinced it opens up any useful space.

The window trim is without a doubt the crappiest looking most cracked and faded part to a mooney. The sidewalls aren't that bad to begin with. 9 grand pays for ten hours refurbishing your old ones, and 110 hours of labor in the future to pull side panels and check for defects. Now how many me mechanics do this every year anyways.

I went back and dug out the old e-mail that Bruce has sent me about 2.5 years ago.  He quoted the side panel kit at $2500 and had a option of getting a shop he used to recover the seats in leather for $1060 each.  There were also a few options such as map pockets that would have brought the total up to around $8K.  His prices have either went up considerably, or there may have been some confusion on what was included in the original post.

On a sad note he thought he was within a month of getting the STC approved.  Looks like he is still working on it over 2 years later.

I think it is a clean looking interior but some specific features maybe liked or disliked by some. However, what am I missing what is the STC for? Anyways who said a Mooney we tight on interior space all you have to do is remove the seats and there is plenty of room.

Bruce showed them at MAPA in Kerrville, three years ago, I believe. They were very plain, less costly, and not in the ballpark with an Aero-Comfort interior.
