nice. The gear comes down faster than I would have thought.

Wonder if anyone is using a camera like this for after action reviews with students? I was watching your landing to see how it's done and it occured to me I could learn a lot by watching my own landings to see what I need to work on.

Where's the shaking coming from? Is the mount too rigid or not enough?

Nice landing...it helps a lot to review the landings... One suggestion, you may want to install your camera just further back. It helps with the shaking. Oscar

Is that Whelen beacon? Why is there one there? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Lots of Mooneys have belly beacons. Mine does too.

The belly beacon was on when I bought the plane - I actually have two on the bottom  the one that used to rotate in the very back and the one about center wing, that one is used at night with the navigation lights.

I do love my manual gear and flaps!!!!

I bought the wifi back for the gopro, I recommend it highly.

I'll try it with the camera further back, I also saw a clip with it mounted on the vertical stabilizer, that was a cool vantage point.

Wondering out loud....

What is the consensus on mounting the go pro on or near flight surfaces.

It seems like a not well thought out idea. Or there is some testing that would allow for it. Or it is so small it wouldn't matter.

I am an engineer that studies flow, often around obstructions. This stuff piques my interest.

Best regards!

Is there any other way to mount the GoPro on the belly than the suction mount?  I don't think I can trust the suction system unless is the Monica L model...  (sorry, could not resist)

Is it much worse than the tie down ring under the wing?

I'm not an engineer.  But it sounds like a nice way to induce poor airflow over the control surfaces at best, and flutter at the worst.

Good point there.... maybe I'll put it on top in front of the fresh air scoop... certainly can't be any worse for airflow than that eh??? :o
