First off as a mechanic and potential Mooney pilot, Mooneyspace.com has been an invaluable resource for me. Currently I am trying to find pictures of belly panels of a 68 M20g. I didn't know if anyone may be able to help. The owner I am working with is debating with me on the panel placements. Unfortunately he did a gear up landing the belly needs a full reskinning.  Thank you for all of the insight.

So what is he disagreement about? I would think that between the IPC (attached) and the damaged parts, it would be pretty straight forward. I have  67F which should be the same. More info would help me capture the details you’re looking for.

I have a highly modified 68 F model.  I put on a one-piece belly using the STC and parts from LASAR.  I assume they are still available.  It is quite a bit of work.  Explain to the insurance company that you will be repairing the gear-up with a one-piece belly.  They should have no issue with that since the original parts are unavailable.  You will need a great sheet metal person who knows what he is doing.

LASAR calls for 70+ hours to install the one piece belly on an undamaged plane.  Is it fiberglass?  Was there a UL penalty?

If you search around here a little bit there's a thread where another person is rescuing an M20J that had a gear up and has made new sheet metal panels for the belly.   That's certainly an option depending on the amount of damage, but usually it seems likely as an option.

You may be able to find replacements from one of the recyclers, too.   I *think* G, F, and J models are all the same, maybe early K as well.

My one-piece belly is fiberglass, but it was already installed post-gear-up synthetic previous owner.

Hey Hank, any way you could pass the details of that installation?
