The harness manufacturers know. Give them your model and engine, what comes in the box will fit just right.

It's also possible to replace a single wire, but that kit costs almost as much as a full harness. Just do the while thing.

My new Kelly harness was falling apart at annual after two years, my IA checked and found two others at his field that were in similar shape. He told me I was lucky it didn't come apart on my 20-minite flight to see him for annual . . .

Caveat emptor.

Thanks for your post. Guess I am not buying a harness from Kelly. What manufacturer should I use?

I am fighting a noisy staticky radio. I want to replace my spark plug wires. Does anyone know what length wires I need for my 84 J model?

Thanks

How old is the coax going to the radios?

Does the static go away when the engine is shut down?

Or change in frequency with engine RPM? Alternators in my experience make a whine that changes with RPM not popping static
