Exactly why I added an AV-20-S to my G3X / G5 panel; inexpensive tie breaker. If the 787 needs three  AIs, I think it's a good idea for me. If you want to know what can happen with only two attitude indicators when one fails, read the accident report for West Air Sweden Flight 294.

Their older electric gyros were horrible. Went through two of them. Saved enough to buy a sandia 340A. It rolled over… sent it back to the factory. Got it back, didn’t really trust it. Then An AD came out. Day VFR only! I’m ready to reinstall the vacuum system!
