0TreeLemur Posted December 16, 2020 Report Posted December 16, 2020 It is fascinating to see how people transform the old panels in our Mooney's through upgrades and new technology. I thought it would be fun to create a thread where folks can post before, during, and after photos showing panel upgrades for folks to browse and consider the possibilities. I'll start with this "back to the future" look where we took the 1967 original panel and upgraded it to a standard steam gauge six-pack, plus a WAAS/ADS-B and electronic engine monitor. I hope others will post what they've done. It will be fun to see the collection. 9

That's funny - extra credit for the account that takes the biggest hit! Also need a category "most bang for buck"! Anyone removing glass and replacing it with steam gauges should be noted too. 1 1

carusoam Posted January 10, 2021 Report Posted January 10, 2021 Who said Mooneys run out of panel space? They were’t wrong... they were just too early! Brian has room for an inflight entertainment screen... The Average color screen count is on the rise. -a- 1
Greg Ellis Posted January 11, 2021 Report Posted January 11, 2021 Before, during, after and a photo of most of the old wiring that was removed. Some of this wiring were live wires that were not attached to anything!!! Just added to as the years went on and never removed. 6
bavareze Posted January 12, 2021 Report Posted January 12, 2021 It's funny how $15k in avionics upgrades cant make a $300 ipad feel useless.... 4 1

This is one of the best examples of how the information density has changed over the years. from a fairly good panel of the 90’s to probably 3x the information in 60 percent of the space. 2

flyboy0681 Posted January 24, 2021 Report Posted January 24, 2021 No matter how radical the change, the King autopilots always stay in their original position. 1
