M20 Ogler Posted December 24, 2018 Report Posted December 24, 2018 Pre 69 the top of the green arc was 150 mph then after 69 it was 175 mph. What changed were made to allow this? I’m still hunting for my first plane and I am considering an E. I’d imagine lots of time in cruise and descent is in the yellow arc. Quote

I think the majority of mooneys hit the yellow arc in a normal 500 to 700 ft descent. I can't get bellow the 180KIAS in decent, even with speed brake. I'm also usually pulled back to about 16 to 18 inches in decent. Quote
asaxet Posted December 25, 2018 Report Posted December 25, 2018 Manual gear.... Hyd flaps... crushing the Yellow.... keep it simple... affordable... and exciting .... LOL 2 1 Quote
Hank Posted December 25, 2018 Report Posted December 25, 2018 In my C, a simple 500fpm descent puts me at 170 mph. Yellow starts at 175 mph . . . Es are a little bit faster. Quote
Ragsf15e Posted December 25, 2018 Report Posted December 25, 2018 (edited) I’ve got a 68F and it’s green up to 175mph. Was it just the short bodies that had the lower green? Definitely can descend in the yellow... cruise power, trim for 500fpm descent, you’ll be yellow arc below 10,000’ or so. I’m usually cruising up around 10k though, so more like 130 or 140 mph indicated in level flight. Edited December 25, 2018 by Ragsf15e Quote
Shadrach Posted December 25, 2018 Report Posted December 25, 2018 I’ve a 67F. Yellow line stars at 175mph. Redline is 200mph. I descend at just under 200mph in smooth air. Quote
