On my M20K, the cockpit door seal starts coming loose on the bottom side. That is where the two ends of the door seal profile meet.

The front part end is now loose on about a distance of 6 inch.

The door seal is not that bad, so I would not like to tear off the whole seal, but want to have a quick fix for the moment.

Of course there is lots of glue underneath the door seal.

What can I do to fasten it? Which glue ?

First, remove the old glue. All of it. Then you can glue it back down. Or it will soon come loose again. Sorry, I don't know whuch adhesive to use, but this is true for all.

OKay. Sounds not as quick small repair job.

What is the best method to remove the glue?

A word of caution from experience.  Be very careful with the adhesive remover, it is a much better paint remover than adhesive remover!

get some weldwood contact cement.   brush on both sides.   Let dry 10 minutes.  Stick together.   Good as new.

I have reattached the seal with rubber cement a few times. The problem is that the seal sticks to the door jam after being tied down on a hot ramp for a few days. What are y’all using to combat sticking? Talc powder, Vaseline, Teflon?

The 3M products are popular in the automotive industry. Engineered to work...

No funny trade names, just right to the point.

I have used a fare amount of Goo Gone as well...

And I believe that’s what’s called out in the manual.

Thank you for all the postings

I am living in Germany, so the brand names are more or less unknown for me..

Silicon grease, similar to what is used for dive equipment. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000DCVZL/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Wipe on, wipe off excess.
