The dome light switch in my bird is broken.  I took the cover off the light to try to figure out the switch.  On the switch it says "Arrow Hart Hegeman 30212".  I tried google searching, but came up empty for that part number.  Does anyone know of a replacement for it?  I'm not sure if it's a dimmer, a push button, a toggle, or what!  The assembly itself is about the diameter of a dime, but headstone shaped.

The dome light is just a toggle switch, you just need an equivalent and your good. No mod or airframe change required.

Ok cool.  Mostly I just didn't know what kind of switch it was.  There's not enough left of it to be able to tell.  I thought maybe it was dimmable

If I recall correctly, it is a rotating on-off switch like an old desk lamp.  Is the remaining part black plastic of about 3/16D?  If so, im pretty sure there is a UL listed alternate.  I replaced mine when the knob sheered off, but can't recall where I got it.  Will try to figure it out.  Do you have photos?

It sort of looks like this (I didn't think to take a picture of it!) but whats left of the actual switch part appears to be black plastic.  I can't tell if it pushed in or rotated or 'switched'.

I'm impressed,  my 1970 C doesn't have a dome light . . .

I bet it's nice, if it worked.  LOL!  I took this pic for someone else, but you can see the empty round hole, that's where the switch 'actuator' should be.

Mine is like that and rotates to alternately turn on and off.  The original has a brittle plastic "handle" and gets sheered off.  I would look for a form, fit, UL listed commercial switch.  Can't recall where I got mine, but it was rather easy to find.

My C had two rheostat type knobs up there. Click on, and variable resistance(?) for dimming. Panel lights and the two small cannon looking projector beam lights got the dimmer switches...

The dome light only had an on/off switch, I believe...

Hope that is helpful, it's a wicked old memory.

Best regards,

Yep, that's what I have. One rotary knob turns on those little red heaters aimed at the panel, the other one opens / closes the ceiling scoop for fresh air. They are up front between the two front air vents, maybe 5" diameter each. The two footwells vents have eyeballs in them, none in the ceiling

I have that too, above my head.  This is more towards the backseat

Mine looks like this:

you should replace that, the older C models only had 50 amp systems, you turn that all the way on and you will use all 50 amps for the light.

My 69 c had a roatary on/off switch.  When mine broke I called Bill Wheat, he said the original was a 115v switch commonly used for the lights on stoves.  I found a similar replacement that needed some modifying with a dremell to fit.

I ended up with one very similar to this.  It's not a 'perfect' fit, but it fits and works. I did find that the wiring connectors up above the headliner had lost their rubber sheath.  Probably a good thing that I got in there.  If it shorted out, it would not have been good.
