Yeah.  It really moves.  Groundspeed bringing it home from Vegas was 170kts.  Still getting used to figuring out how far out to start slowing down.

Wow - I'm envious. That has got to be the most bad ass J-bar Mooney out there.   Curious to learn more of this plane's history. Not exactly your average stock F.

hi from reddit   I just noticed your yoke are later model as well.  Do you still have the PC system?  Where the button to disable it?

This was one of the Mod Works planes. Apparently the guy that owned it three owners ago was a dentist who flew the plane around the world. There are entries in the log books from shops in Australia. If you google N221HP there is a blog about a trip with pictures of the pyramids from the plane. 

It has aux tanks and can hold 96 Gals. It is definitely a unique plane with plenty of history.  The last owner flew the plane non stop from Yosemite to San Antonio.  He definitely had plenty of adventures in it.  Putting it in new hands for someone to have new adventures was definitely an emotional experience for him.

As far as I can tell PC was removed as well as the retractable step.

Those other planes in the background yours as well? There should be a limit on how many airplanes one guy has!  I'm a socialist when it comes to airplanes- since I dont have one yet! lol I'll be a capitalist when I get mine

Not mine, we're splitting a hangar.  Three planes and a CNC machine.

It has the Continental 360-ES.  Don't really need the Ray Jay, don't want to mess with O2.  I'll just stay below 12.5k for now.
