I'd be interested in some input on what the going rate is to rent an IFR Mooney. I'm particularly interested in E, F, J models but there may be broader interest by others for the M20K and long bodies as well. Mooneys for rent are rare compared to Pipers and Cessnas so I'm casting a wide net on MS.

(I'm not looking to rent but would like to know what an arms length, e.g. FBO rate, is for valuing the use of my plane for charitable flights.)

In this query  am not very interested in advice on IRS or FAA rules that someone here might be tempted to give. There are plenty of existing threads already dealing with these questions. Please stick to the question and tell me that ABC FBO @ KXYZ rents a 201 for $250/hour wet, or similar.

Thanks!

Bob

I think right around 200$/h D is reasonable for a well equipped /G 201. If I was renting mine out I wouldn't take anything less.

If you have the yearning to rent a old Cherokee 140 with original paint (and probably interior), we all now know where to go.

Looking at some of these old, beat-up rentals sure makes me grateful for what I have.

Pinnacle Aviation Academy at KCRQ rents 201DD (77J) for $210 an hour. GPS, nothing fancy that I recall.

I was gonna mention this one. I believe they only rent it for instruction with their instructors though. It hardly ever leaves the tie down compared to the rest of their fleet. Only time I ever see it in the air is doing pattern work with people doing transition training or getting a complex endorsement. Also note the $189/hr quoted in the other post is the "academy rate" for people who keep money on file with the school, and not the normal hourly rate.
