I clicked on the first link...

Opened smoothly into my web browser.

Then I read the piece by Mr. Belville.

Wish I could have been there...

Now I have to go back and cover the other issues regarding memory and brain cells....

Best regards,

Plenty of memory. In iBooks it says unable to open.

Edit: turned it off then back on and got it to work.

Not possible!  The Apple fanboys tell me that iPads always just work. :P

I really like the flyer and am not trying to "poke holes" in the front page article about insurance.  However, it was stated that 1M smooth coverage is difficult to get.  This agrees with most of what I have read from various online sources, However when I renewed my coverage this year I asked my agent about it.  I was able to get a smooth 1M policy with 100 Make/Model, a little under 200TT, and no instrument rating. It cost S1700 vs the S1400 I had been paying for 100k sublimit. If its something you feel you need or want, talk to your agent about it.  You don't have to have 1000's of hrs or an instrument rating to get it. The underwriter I  was currently with was the only one who would quote it.

Excellent....as usual.  I especially like the Instrument refresher's delineation of WAAS and non-WAAS regulations.

I was also amused to read that Mooneys electrical (gear) systems started in 1978.....no wonder my '74's gear is so mysterious!

Great publication. No problem using an iPad (version 3) to read as a .pdf. Re smooth insurance: I was very pleased when Travers, my aviation broker, offered to renew my coverage through a market that was willing to write one million smooth coverage for me, and at what I consider a reasonable price. I will be 80 during the policy term, and while some insurance carriers think octogenarians must be incapable of flying, at least one company is not so prejudiced. Good to hear that Paul at LASAR has a new manager. I was at LASAR about a week ago and saw a huge pile of parts they just purchased. Wow! What a treasure trove. Dan is highly pleased. Call them if you are looking for hard to find parts. Sometimes we forget that some of the MSCs have been keeping our aircraft flying, with and without factory support.
