mike_elliott Posted October 28, 2014 Author Report Posted October 28, 2014 I had a great time, and I think everyone else did too. If anyone has little tweaks to add to the process to improve it even further, they should post them. I would toss out the idea of establishing a bulletin board at some location for posting notes. Things like "getting a group together to ___________; meet here at 3:00 if you are interested." Or "Don Muncy, I want to talk to you. Hang around here at !0:00" Don, this sounds like something that could be handled with text messaging via a group. Abe has a lot of great idea's in store to bring our Summit up to snuff with technology that could possibly address this want and many many more communication solutions. Quote
Mooneymite Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 It will most likely be the second or third weekend in october, depending on other event conflicts.  Thanks.  Earlier in Oct....second week, is better for me, but I know that the Dr. is also looking at avoiding the busier "in season" at Panama City.  I'm sure the weather will be much better the second week than later. Might be a big ice storm the third week. Quote
DonMuncy Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 Don't worry about our chatter Mike. We act like you don't have anything to do other than plan Summit III. Quote
mike_elliott Posted October 28, 2014 Author Report Posted October 28, 2014 Thanks.  Earlier in Oct....second week, is better for me, but I know that the Dr. is also looking at avoiding the busier "in season" at Panama City.  I'm sure the weather will be much better the second week than later. Might be a big ice storm the third week. It has more to do with Panama City Beach events like Bike week & Girls gone wild productions  the NBAA in Orlando, the Florida lunch group on the 2nd Saturday, The Mooney PPP schedule etc. A lot of balls to juggle on this. While there may be a possibility of an ice storm in Atlanta, spending 6 quality hours in the family truckster will do wonders for you Gus! (It took me more than that to drive up there this year) Anyway, you get my drift. This year, you Roger Gradle, Jim R., and a couple others were caught out. One gent donated $500 and couldn't come. as so (in)eloquently said by HC, "We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good." 1 Quote

mike_elliott Posted October 28, 2014 Author Report Posted October 28, 2014 Plan on it. Summit III will be outstanding if the preliminary thoughts become reality. Quote

rubixcube2k3 Posted October 30, 2014 Report Posted October 30, 2014 Would you social butterflies mind posting some damn pix???? I have three kids and wife on a progressive maintenance plan, so attending one of these functions will never happen. Vicarious FUN!!! Let's see it!!!!   I'm actually in the process of building out an area outside of this space for people to venture to and see the pics and even pickup the presentations that were donated by our experts. Unfortunately, I came back home to find a couple of client situations that need my immediate attention, so it may be late this weekend before we're active in that respect.  In the meantime, I'll see if Mike is ok with putting  a few teasers here.  Abe 2 Quote
DonMuncy Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 Did anyone do a final tally of how many Mooneys flew in and how many attendees showed up. It looked to me like a pretty good turnout. Quote
Bob_Belville Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 Don, Mike included some numbers is his article in the Mooney Flyer that is posted today. http://themooneyflyer.com/issues/2014NovTMF.pdf  As you probably experienced Sheltair keeps such a sterile ramp it would not have been easy to check out other planes as we were able to @ KERV. SOP is for a lineman to escort us and our rental car to and from the plane. Kind of disappointing after I vacuum the carpet and wiped finger prints off the 750. Quote
fantom Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 Haven't read the Flyer yet but on Friday afternoon I counted 24 on the primary ramp, Sheltair said they had 50 in, with another 20+ expected. Quite a good turnout. Quote
Bob_Belville Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 Mike mentions 68 pilots and 46 spouses plus guests (presenters, etc) in the Flyer report . I suspect only Sheltair knows the plane count. We picked up our badges at registration but no one asked me how we got there and the only activity at the airport was the tank sealing demo early Friday afternoon. Quote
