Looks great.

I do have a question why is  your AI and DG are not centered like a normal 6 pack?

We couldn’t center it right over the yoke so we opted to move it to the right that way copilot can both monitor and make changes if needed (we plan on flying two pilot flights quite a bit so we split the duties (pilot monitoring handles radios, nav, etc)

This looks awesome, can’t wait to here how she flies! I’m about to do something very similar to my panel, how do you like the EDM900 on the right side?

My G5s are lined up just like that.  You won’t even notice.

Never noticed the offset while flying.

David,

With your ASI and GI275 so close together…

Do your eyes still visit the ASI?

Wondering how things work over time….

Some people are numbers driven, others prefer the needle presentation….

Between the two instruments, you have it all…

  • Analog needle presentation…
  • Digital tapes..
  • Hard numbers…

Kind of personal question isn’t it? :)

Best regards,

Can't keep my eyes off the needle when landing. A glance, you don't have to read and interpret numbers.  I even put blue painter's tape over the ASI for a month or so to train my eyes to use the 275.  Will probably do that again once the tail is repaired.

When I built the RV, I had never used a digital display until the first flight.  That only had the Dynon displays.  Cold turkey.  About 500 in that and still want to return to the needle.

I use this arrangement, and love it for al of the reasons previously stated - the two dark 275's ate HSI and MFD - the failover in the primary ASI is to second AHRS unit on the right (which normally serves as a MFD), not the HSI. I removed the VSI and the TC b/c they provided redundant data and/or just became visual clutter.

I actually dig it on the right side. If or when we do the right panel, we’re probs gonna throw a wedge to angle it towards pilot a little better but no complaints as it sits

I dig it. I may end up doing the same with the vsi and tc to clean it up a bit better in the future
