Well, it looks like I'll be back in a Mooney again soon. Today I accepted an offer on my 310 and came to an agreement to buy a Mooney once the 310 closes. This will all take a few weeks to transpire and when I have the Mooney in my hangar I'll send photos and reveal which model.

I've owned four Mooneys, a "C", "F" (with Ray Jay turbo), "K" (231) and "M" (known ice) and I have time in C, E, F, G, J, K, M & R model Mooneys.

What could the next Mooney be . . . .

The only one missing from your alphabet of Mooney’s is the “L”. That would be a new one for you.

I do not have "D", "TN" or "V" time either.

Guess that’s what happens when the cost of fuel flying a Mooney becomes almost the same as normally flying a twin.

Fuel prices had nothing to do with it.

Ken needs a Liquid Rocket!

A few years ago I talked to Don Maxwell about that one that has been listed forever. He told me he refuses to work on it and to run away. So, no, it will not be a Liquid Rocket.

Such a shame that he said that. On paper it seems to make total sense but i guess reality proved otherwise and with continental no longer supporting the engine, now it’s an orphan.

I'm going to guess a different one...M22

Boy, I’ve kicked around the possibility of an M22 a lot. I have enough pressurized time that I think I can get insured in it for a reasonable amount but that engine just concerns me. And it doesn’t fit my current mission profile in any event.

For M22 availability… press 1…

No word if it ever sold…

:)

For the ultimate Mooney experience… one would need a TN’d 310hp Acclaim, with FIKI, and AC… then speak with Jonny about the UL increase…. :)

M20TN would work… but M20V would be better…

If the UL increase applies to all long bodies… the M20L would be back in play…. The first LB, but it is leg limited…. Exchange the legs and the Liquid Rocket starts sounding extra good…. :)

G1000 Mooneys are nice, but challenging to upgrade…. Older LBs are a breeze to modernize with WAAS and wide screens…

M20Es make great retirement Mooneys!  :)

Good Luck Ken!

Go Mooney!
