skyfarer Posted January 18, 2022 Report Posted January 18, 2022 I’ve signed a purchase agreement, and this is certainly the least of my concerns…. but my wife says we should name her when she becomes officially my first Mooney. So do any of you have a cool or clever pet name for your ship? A friend of mine has a Cherokee Six and named it the “Orange Bird”, it has a fun decal of the Disney Orange bird on the side. The reason? It’s slow but knows how to get to Florida. 1 Quote

We started off ownership with some pretty bad luck and quite a few tense moments, which resulted in me spending almost all of my time out side of work, working on the "other women". I spend way too much time with Mable and she always gets us where we need to go, it just may be on her time. 2 Quote
aviatoreb Posted January 19, 2022 Report Posted January 19, 2022 My airplane is the pi-plane. A bi-plane has two wings. A tri-wing has 3 wings. A pi-plane has an irrational number of wings and her tail number is N314EB you will need to figure what the EB. Professor of mathematics... 4 Quote

EricJ Posted January 19, 2022 Report Posted January 19, 2022 An old friend that used to own a Mooney long ago was helping me navigate the search and purchase process, mostly providing a second set of eyes and moral support. The purchase process turned out to be far longer and difficult and frustrating than expected, and he spontaneously called it a "drama queen" in the middle of all of it. That stuck, and it was reinforced during the first six months of ownership. It's been an awesome airplane since then, though, but we still call it that, or just DQ. When other friends, mostly non-aviators, saw the tail number they started coming up wtih all kinds of names, mostly NSFW, base on the TS. My fave was Tittie Sprinkles, but Drama Queen has stuck instead. 2 Quote

Papa K Posted January 19, 2022 Report Posted January 19, 2022 2 Weeks ago I became grandpa for the first time. Last week I bought my first plane. On the advice of my accountant, I created an LLC to register the plane. SO.... I created Papa K's Flying Service, LLC. My kids think I should call the plane: K Force One! What ever you decide to call it, you get to call it your own! 1 1 Quote
ohdub Posted January 19, 2022 Report Posted January 19, 2022 My wife named ours Gwendolyn. When she first saw her, she looked at the registration (C-GWED) and said her name is Gwendolyn and it stuck. 1 Quote
