Hi DSAAP program officer.  How does one apply for that job?  Sounds like fun.  All you need is what - a side arm and a commercial pilot license?  How many people are flying to DCA with a DSAAP?  Like two a month?  Sort of a souped up CFI with a gun job.  Charge $2k per trip and make a nice side business out of threatening to shoot people and riding around people's fancy airplanes with them.

You have to have military service or law enforcement training. Otherwise I would have already applied for this position!!

We have counter measure capabilities that are tracking everything in the sky and can actually obliterate an aircraft in seconds and even shoot apart the falling pieces. Tracks threats 15 miles out and can fire on them at anytime.

That would be quite a sight. Aluminum tinsel raining down on the reigning monarch.

Well, Dan based on the responses, if he is elected Prez, I’ll have 3 options;

1) Hope Greenville Delaware is too boring and he will hang out at Camp David (don’t think he is a golfer) instead.

2) Move to KMQS and hang out with you.

3) If I really need to get out before the TFR goes up, fly the plane out early.

When he was VP, he didn’t spend a lot of time in Delaware.

BTW - the day I took the picture, I saw your plane coming out of KMQS. Too busy landing to ping you on your CTAF.

Uncle Chris we’re screwed... another reason to alter my vote..I guess they think Mooney s are equipped with Missiles and machine guns.

I’m not too worried about it. Even if he is elected, I don’t think he will hang out much here. He didn’t when he was VP.

Huh - 1nm, 1000ft.  That is so small as to be almost irrelevant if someone were up to no good.

We used to joke when his VP TFR went up, it made it easier to find his house. Sometimes you have to wonder who comes up with these things.

Agreed, I don't see Biden spending many winter breaks in Delaware...

Humm. Switch labels in one picture and not in the other? When were these taken?

Well Rich, those pictures were a test for Clarence since he seems to notice EVERYTHING when a person posts a picture.

The pictures were taken a couple years apart. The TFR around N87 was taken in 2017. Interestingly, every year I flew over for my annual, N87 was surrounded by a TFR.

The labels were moved from above to below last year. You can see a piece of the label in the second photo.

And that’s how we like it. We should put up signs on I-95 that read “Just keep on moving, no stopping”.

My home drome is under the Trump TFR veil and I've learned to live with it. My biggest complaint is just how often it's in use, which from December to March seems to be every weekend, with the exception of this year. VFR flight plans work just fine, but just don't arrive at the outer ring unannounced when coming in, give ATC ample time to identify you and get things squared away if you aren't being handed off to them. The people I truly feel sorry for, and I mean that sincerely,  are the people based at Lantana, which is essentially closed down when Trump is in town due to its close proximity to Mir-A--Lago.

06C for Obama and 47N for first half of Trump.  This election I finally win whoever gets elected.

One will be a bigger loss than the other. Which is which deoends on who you ask . . . . .

But look at their economic policies before marking your ballot. Which one will be kinder to aircraft values and our ability to buy and support them?

Not trying to continue a political thread, but when you look at the written platform of one party it’s pretty clear they would try to ban 100LL if they had their way.

While pretty much true, I also happen to think that that party is more sensitive to the GA community and the contribution they make.

The best we can hope for is that whoever wins continues the longtime political tradition of doing very little to affect the daily life of the average person while spending most of their time just trying to get re-elected.

We would first get some kind of no lead but high octane replacement / perhaps one of those fuels already in testing.

I live 1 mile from my airport in Columbus Indiana which is home of Mike Pence.  He doesn’t visit much.  The biggest issue I’ve had is when they shut down one of my favorite restaurants so he can eat.

Mathias Rust flew a C172 and landed in Red Square.   The Russians had tracked him all the way in, so they weren't surprised.

I still remember this event - it was in 1987, in Soviet times. And the reaction of the Russians was extremely reasonable. BTW, if you want to have a good laugh, look up his "later life" on Wikipedia...

I remember being stopped on the street in Yellowston a couple years ago. Obama was there, fishing, so every car had to wait. Makes perfect sense in a democracy...

I was in Manhattan two years ago when Trump was in town. Words could not possibly describe traffic conditions in midtown as Fifth Avenue was shut down around Trump Tower.

If that’s the case, then why all the inconvenience of the TFRs to begin with?
