Prior owner Posted April 16, 2020 Report Posted April 16, 2020 First thing I would do is send the cooler out for inspection and cleaning. Most shops don’t have the setup to do it right- send it to a shop that specializes in oil cooler cleaning. Never heard of a bubble... 1 Quote

I just found them in a Google search. Any PIREP or alternate suggestion? Quote
MB65E Posted April 16, 2020 Report Posted April 16, 2020 The best! Wayne the owner is great. Actually just sent two coolers to them recently! -Matt 1 Quote
Prior owner Posted April 16, 2020 Report Posted April 16, 2020 (edited) I have not used them, but I have a co-worker IA who recommends them. If the cooler has never been cleaned, it really ought to be sent out. Edited April 16, 2020 by PilotCoyote 1 Quote
Ross Taylor Posted April 16, 2020 Report Posted April 16, 2020 Since I don't know if, or when, this oil cooler has ever been cleaned out...and it is 50+ years old...Pacific Oil Cooler Service sounds like a good plan. Thanks, gang, for the recommendations. 1 Quote
carusoam Posted April 16, 2020 Report Posted April 16, 2020 Cleaning both surfaces is a good idea... both inside and outside... Checking airflow from front to back.... dirt can build between the fins.... There is an airflow shield behind the oil cooler when mounted to the front of the cowl... The shield probably keeps things from blocking the flow out of the cooler...(?) Sending it out for OH is a great way to take care of all that ails it... Keep in mind of anything is plugging flow In sections of the oil cooler.... the existing oil hoses should be considered as well... How old are they? Can they be cleaned and flushed out as well... (?) PP thoughts only, not a mechanic... Best regards, -a- Quote

Any PIREP or alternate suggestion? Another big +1 for Pacific. I had mine gone through about a year ago. They are right by my home drone (POC) and drove the cooler over and picked it up less than a week later. Real easy to work with. 1 Quote
