New Mooney Owner Intro

Hi Guys!

Relatively new Mooney owner here...been meaning to post an intro for a few months now. Picked up my new-to-me J model back in May and absolutely love it! Some of you may have seen it on here with the previous owner. It's an immaculate, low-time aircraft. I keep it in Columbus, OH, so if any of you are from that area, let me know! I'm on this site quite a bit, but still learning more and more about Mooney's so I may not be the first to jump in to answer a question on here. There's quite a few beautiful planes on here and look forward to meeting all of you.

It's just an awesome thing to own and fly a Mooney!  I just returned from seeing over 40 Mooneys all in the same place and they are all truly a beautiful hand crafted travelling machine. You will love it!

That is Fernando's J correct?  Welcome to the Mooney Family. I hope that you joined MAPA and are coming to the Homecoming later this month in Kerrville.  Of course your J was in Boots on the Ground: the Men & Women who made Mooney, the documentary I made about Mooney!

Yeah it was Fernando's previously. Unfortunately due to work I won't be able to attend the homecoming this year but maybe next year! I have not seen that documentary...I need to check that out!! Thanks for sharing

Yep. I also have an M20J that I keep at Bolton. Although it's not as nice as yours. 

I'm in the F hangars all the way at the back. There's another MS member, @steingar, who has an M20C at Bolton.

Oh ok cool! Yeah I'm toward the back too. Row H. I think I may have met the M20C owner before possibly. But yeah I'm out there quite a bit usually when I'm not gone for work. Would be nice to meet you sometime maybe.

Great looking plane. I'm also in Columbus flying out of OSU. I'd love to see your plane and pick your brain about the purchase process. I'm back to flying after 16 years off and really looking at these beautiful planes as an option.

Candy man...for sure no problem. Let me know anytime if I'm available. I literally live right next to KOSU. 

Also we all do need to have a get together or Mooney fly-out...seems like a lot of us in this area. Took a trip yesterday up to KPCW and ate at the restaurant diner on the field. Very nice place and a quick flight in our birds.

I live very near the OSU airport as well.  I considered putting a deposit on one of the new hangars but it came down to price.  At Bolton hangars rent for $180 or $200 per month depending on the row.  The new hangars at OSU will rent for $325. In the end I just couldn't justify the additional expense.

Let me know if you guys plan a get-together.

Agreed on the OSU hangars...can't justify the cost for a hangar that I can get the same thing for $200 for only a 20 min drive. I'm sure they'll be nice though.

Hi Davarron,

I am based in KDLZ and we have couple of Mooney's here.  There's atleast one in KCMH.  There will be quite a few if we decide to do a KPCW flyin sometime.

Nice of y'all to have an OH get together a mere two-and-a-half years after I moved back South. I was at Lawrence Co. (KHTW) for seven years, it's only ~40 Mooney minutes away from CMH or Bolton.
