bonal Posted September 29, 2016 Report Posted September 29, 2016 Still no go, it goes to a play screen but nothing happens. I've watched it on my wife's phone but want others to be able to see. Thanks for the effort. Quote
gsxrpilot Posted September 29, 2016 Report Posted September 29, 2016 Ok, trying again here. In this effort, I've watched the video several times and am looking forward to trying out this method in my Mooney tomorrow morning. It looks genius. 4 Quote
Marauder Posted September 29, 2016 Report Posted September 29, 2016 I just saw an Avweb news flash. They are reporting hundreds of Mooney owners are flocking to airports to try a new technique known as "Bonalizing". Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 8 Quote

That method looks like a sure way to over stress the seat back. Clarence Quote
Hank Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 I tried it this weekend, it's pretty easy to get out. The hard part is sliding the right seat forward after the passenger gets out of it, leaving it all the way back. Haven't tried sliding the fully-forward seat all the way back yet . . . Quote

Clarence I put almost no weight on my arm the seat back really just helps with balance all my weight is on my legs B26 I'm sorry this did not work I wonder if the quadrant makes it harder. Any way my video is not edited and in real time all the proof I need because the only person it has to work for is me. Seats do have to be all the the way fore and aft I have forgotten to do that occasionally and makes it a bit more difficult. Believe me I'm not the most limber guy in the conga line. Quote
Raptor05121 Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 I laughed wayyyy too hard at that video, Marauder 2 Quote
FlyDave Posted October 5, 2016 Report Posted October 5, 2016 Yeah, I'm sitting in a bar drinking beer and now laughing so hard the fish and chips are all over the table. Thanks Chris! 2 Quote

Specifically, the M20F with it's extra carrying capacity and longer cabin. I love that the Mooney is so damn fast and has equally impressive efficiency. But... Then I started hearing of the "dreaded" small cabin. So I look at some stats and learn the Mooney cabin is actually wider, at 43.5 inches, than the 172 or 182, which are 42." Apparently, the rub comes in how you have to shimmy into the left seat of a Mooney. I'm not a small guy. My son, who will be flying with me most the time, is also not small. I'm 6'2" and right around 300#. My son is 6'3" and around 275. I have my PPL and trained in a Cessna 172. I was about the same size, but my instructor was really small. I've never sat in a Mooney and I'm just not sure it's going to work. I badly want to make this not only work, but be realistic as well. The obvious answer is to lose weight. I get that. But if I had that whole thing figured out I can assure you I wouldn't be this size. So, yes, that will be the plan, but I need to figure out if it will work as we presently are as well. If so, then weight loss would be a bonus in many ways. I need a hand guys! Let me know your experience in this area and thoughts... Thanks! Where do you live? I own a m20k 231 with the rocket conversion. I am 6ft tall and 220. Length wise the mooney will be comfortable. Width is where you will notice the difference especially from a 172. Weight and Balance in the rocket is amazing. 1 Quote
