Ed Guthrie says silicon oil, which I am planning to buy.  I had thought about using Corrosion X?  I'm trying to avoid my control shaft from getting rusty looking (like on some planes).  What's everyone using?

If you do happen to have some discoloration or slight rust on the yokes, bronze wool has been very successful for me.  It can be purchased at your local hardware store.  The material removes any marks without destroying the finish.

I hope this helps you Mr. Hope Pilot and thank your support and for hangin' with us this w/e.   Mooney's ROCK!!

No discoloration yet, but pictures of other's shafts have made me want to take some preventative measures.

FYI Mitch:  I took video of the award presentation in 1080 HD and will give you guys a SD copy next time we run into each other.  Someday, when I get a burner that make a bluray, I'll give you an HD copy.

Teflon spray worked well for my 1965 M20C.  Just a little lasts a few months.  Easy to clean and spray.

Silicone spray (WD40?) also works well, but does not last as long.

Best regards,

I just hit it with a short burst from my can of Tri-Flow. If I have it around, I will sometimes use the little squirt bottle of "dry" Tri-Flow that came free with my last big spray can.

So I ended up getting Tri-Flow and it worked great!  Just remember to contact your physician if things don't return to normal after three hours...
