  1. Greetings all. I have an auto pilot question for all you hard core IFR folks. I just had my AP adjusted to correct a chasing issue I was having. Anyway, while it turns much smoother and it’s solved my wing rocking issue, I wondered what turn rates I had now that it’s all working. I went out and tested some standard rate turns with the AP and here’s what I got: to the left, I’ve got 2 minute, 15 second turn; to the right I have a 2 minute 40 second turn. so my question to the group is 1. Does it really matter for mostly VFR flying?, and 2. Should I leave well enough alone or shall I have them tweak it some more. Thank you all
  2. Evening all, I've started getting a rocking motion when activating my King Autopilot. Regardless of mode, Nav, or HDG, as soon as I activate it the elevators start an up and down motion that causes the wings to rock. It's relatively smooth and switches back and forth between wings about every second. Still tracks well, but what started out as an occasional rocking has pretty much turned permanent. Any ideas out there would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
  3. Thank you for the welcome back... had a few life changes that made me have to sell 88V . Dabbled with a tri-pacer for a couple years and was miserable. They're fun to fly but not the greatest traveling machine. Once back on my feet got into an '82 J with updated avionics, full autopilot, etc..... Gotta love these machines . Been poking around here the last couple of months just to see what's going on. Glad to be back here.
  4. Thank you all so much. I have my question answered. I knew about not squawking 1200, but wasn’t sure about filing the SFRA flight plan if flying to Leesburg.
  5. Hello all, Looking for Some assistance and clarification for those of you that fly up in the DC SFRA. I'm heading up there in the next week or so and Have taken the SFRA cert course but I'm unsure about Leesburg KJYO in particular. I know there's a movement area specifically for KJYO, but I'm unclear about whether or not I need to file the SFRA flight plan or not. I'm VFR and most likely will be using flight following so I'll definitely be talking to Center (unless they can't take me), but the plan is flight following up there and flying into KJYO. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  6. Marana is a good bet. Flown in there several times and always been treated really nice.

I've bought 3 and sold 2 on there. Both times I've used the "pay the fee" method and I've gotten multiple inquiries right from the get go. Sold both of them within the month.

Yep!!! Not a good Idea to list a plane for sale here unless you have thick skin and aren't going to be upset with the plethora of comments that are sure to be posted about it. I've found it best to list on Barnstormers and pay the extra fee for the front page. When looking to buy, the same thing, Barnstormers has been my go to place.
  9. I had 70 hours in a 172 when I bought my F and it's pretty much what several have described here: 10 dual, and 10 solo before they'll let you fly with any passengers. I now have just under 900 hours in my E...never looked back
  10. I have one on dropbox, if you provide me your email address I'll send you a link to it. I can't figure out how to attach a document here.
  11. Pistons, what pistons , it's truing out in the mid to high 160's, but I have not pushed her yet.
  12. No problem. yeah, They've come a long way....the way the 650 fits in the space a 530 does and the brightness it has makes it a very nice unit now. Heat has not been a problem either. Great unit.
