Trump's staff forgot to pay the $5 to re-register his Citation X

From AVWEB:

A 1997 Citation X owned by Donald Trump has been flying with an expired FAA registration since Jan. 31, according to a story in today's New York Times. Flying with a lapsed registration — which costs $5 for three years — could be a problem in the case of an accident, and also can subject the owner or operator to FAA fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment up to three years. Oh, it's okay.  The $5 is a FEE!

If it were truly a tax, we might be able to deduct it somewhere on our 1040.  -_-

i heard about this earlier but was told it was maintenance not registration.  Either way he pays people to take care of these things.

 

I'm sure that person will be in the $#!^ house for a while.:o

I think that's excessive.  No one needs more than two Sikorsky helicopters.

Yeah, but he only has one B-757 with his name in 8' letters!  He needs something to compensate for that shortcoming....:P

Maybe it is to compensate for that minuscule lettering down by the empennage.  Must have forgotten where his n-number was.

The fee may be only $5.00, but the administrative cost to collect it would be hundreds of times greater.
