Money Summit III

Recommended Posts

I've not seen a schedule yet, but there was a question about Pinch Hitter during registration so I signed up my wife (who has expressed both interest and fear for several years now). Doing it with others, I think, would help with the fear part.

While not a schedule, I have seen a list of presenters, and it looks like a great event! Just not sure if I need to take a day off and be there on Thursday or not.

Thanks, Gus. So glad to know that you're looking out for us.

"When an animal comes in my house, it goes on the plate. When you go in the ocean, you in the shark s house." I hope to have some time to visit the shark's house while we are there. You?

Sharkeys Restaurant is right across the  Origin beachfront where most of us will be staying. Highly recommend the fish taco's. The fish goes on the plate for you here!

Is everyone staying at Origin at Seahaven! recommendations?

We stayed there last year.  the year before we stayed at a smaller motel down the road and across the street.  It wasn't as nice but it was right on the beach.  I'll probably try to stay at Origins this year.

Hank,

Everyone registered will receive the updated agenda soon, but for the curious, here it is also. Main difference is we have Captain Ryan Crossman from Tindall AFB speaking on fatigue, possibly spatial disorientation on Sunday.

For those of you who could not register but would like to come visit, Friday there is an Open house scheduled from noon until 2:00 PM with presentations by Paul Beck & Bruce Jaeger on "Pratical solutions", Jolie and Jan Maxwell will speak about the Mooney Ambassadors and Mooney Girls, Ron Jarmon will be taking photos of arrivals and departures, Sheltair will have hotdogs, Burgers, cokes, and possibly CAMI might have the vomit comet and Oxygen chamber portable rides there with spatial and hypoxia training. So even those that are not registered can enjoy some of the love!

Fuel discounts (last year a buck a gal off) will also be given.

We stayed at SeaHaven the first year, and at the motel across the street last year. The motel was very simple, but comfortable, a good bit less expensive than the pretty condos, and the Gulf was right outside our sliding glass door. So, there was no kitchenette, but I'm on vacation. Cooking is somebody else's job! It was as convenient to the talks, restaurants, and so forth, as the condos, and we didn't have to wait for an elevator. No complaints. We will be there in the beachfront motel again this year.

Most people are. The Seahaven properties are providing us with a tremendous amount of things to make this event happen, like their conference center, coolers, ice, labor to clean up after the Reception, transportation to the Runaway Island for Sat night dinner, and maybe even Friday night dessert. These bennies, along with a reduced Mooney Summit rate for the Condo's (If any are even available any longer) along with proximity to everyone else, make this a logical choice, but you can find other places for a few bucks less. Personally, I believe it is nice to support those that support us, like Sheltair, Weep no More, Premier Aircraft Sales, Sunset Eagle Air (donating a free annual!) and all of our sponsors and door prize donors. Ill post a complete list soon.

I'm staying at Seahaven for I think 5 nights.. The wife and her friend are coming to vacation while I Mooney.

They really like the pics on the Seahaven website. I'm riding with a Mooney pilot from MD right now. Women fly commercially to Tallahassee.

Those of you that are not registered for the Mooney Summit III but would like to come and be a part of it, We are having an Mooney Summit Open house, free cookout, and presentations at KECP from Noon until about 4 on Friday, Oct 2nd. Sheltair will be giving 1$ off fuel discounts in addition to providing the burgers, drinks etc. Dave will have his vintage cowl mod there on display, Bruce Jaeger and Paul beck will have a fantastic seminar (wings credit) on Practical solutions, Jan Maxwell and Jolie Lucas will give a presentation about Mooney Ambassadors and Mooney GIrls. Ron Jarmon will be photographing your planes. We have reached our capacity of 95 Mooney pilots and spouses/S.O's for our other events (limited strictly by our space to hold the events), but this open fly in is a way we can include everyone that wants to come but cannot commit to the entire weekend, or missed the registration. On behalf of the Mooney Summit Team, we hope to meet and see a number of you there. Or registrant list reads like a who's who of Mooney chronology, and this should rival the historic Mooney Fly in's like the Glacier Girl event of 2004, the Air Force Museum event in 2007, etc.

Abe will be sending the list of those registered for FR's IPC's to CarolAnn, and she will schedule it all, Bob. Thanks for the complement, we are lucky to have such talent willing to donate their time on behalf of the attendee's. There are other notable Mooney Instructors that will be attending also that are not listed as instructors, but I am sure will be happy to share knowledge, and perhaps jump in the genius seat if we need extra help. Our goal isn't to take $$ out of anyone's pocket and compete with MAPA or their spin off, the MAPA safety foundation, but rather to "better the breed" in a setting that the entire Mooney Community is welcome.
