Its the same plastic....  Follow the same procedures.  My shield was warped in the middle at the cut for the center tube.  I used a heat gun very carefully to get the plastic really soft, then quickly placed it on a flat surface with an Oak wooden block and a 20 pound weight on it.  When it cooled is was pretty close to factory.

Not really.....  Just got it really hot.  I had an oven mitt (ov-glove) on and as was able to push on the plastic to the point I could move it.  At that point, I place it flat side down on a granite counter top and place an OAK wooden block on the warped area with a 20LB barbell on it.  The next morning when it was cool 90% or more of the warp was gone.....

Or you can send your glareshield to Hector at AeroComfort. He will take the waves out and recover it. They look great, and if I recall correctly, a little over .3 AMU.

I've been entertaining the idea of getting the panels out and painting them, but the more I think about it, the more I realize I want to have the interior done all at once, so will need to save some money for that project. In the meantime, maybe I can clean them and get them to look better. Any thoughts as to what would work to clean them with without having to take them out? Soap and water would make a mess inside the airplane...

Soft scrub in a nonspray bottle.  Use it on a rag. Scrub. Wipe off with a wet rag. The slightly abrasive media cleans deep.

I just painted my instrument panel covers today with krylon maxx I think they call it.  Came out really reslly nice.  I did about eight very light coats and used prep all prior to painting.

I've used regular PVC glue with the light weight cloth, also melted ABS plastic in MEK, both worked fine. 3M makes an ABS repair kit.....

+1.  pvc glue and fiberglass cloth works great. Lee

I have just removed all of the plastics from my 20J and will be refurbing the interior while it is getting an avionics upgrade.  For those using PVC glue to fix cracks, do you use the PVC Primer too (just like putting together pvc pipes)?  I bought some SEM epoxy for this job, but the chemical reaction aspect of the PVC glue with some fiberglass tape seems like a better idea.

Also, this seems like a good time to replace all of the old, dull fasteners on the interior with new stainless steel ones.  Anyone sourced those from somewhere other than Spruce?  I'm thinking maybe Fastenal.  I can't bring myself to spend $70 on a handful of interior screws.  ($18 AMU on avionics and skimping on screws, officially in the CB club with this one)

For the fasteners check Plane Plastics. They also carry hardware.

On the new fasteners or old fasteners, screw them all into a piece of cardboard and spray them with the same paint as you are using on the interior. That way the fasteners blend in rather than standing out.

I buy my SS screws from Spruce. Measure only the ones you need, they are pretty cheap in bags of 50. Never buy the "kits," you'll never use them all (plus they are badly overpriced!).

While you're at it, go ahead and order screws for all of your inspection panels, too. The Teflon washers to go under them are about 2¢ each in bags of 100. Then you'll be ready to replace any that don't look good at every annual, and you can throw some in the back in a baggie in case some come up missing or lost away from home.

Here is the quantity of screws I just removed at annual. The last guy put them in with a screw gun, against my direct request; I replaced all belly and about half of the spinner screws, plus a few others here and there. 

Spinner 27
Belly 48 + 5
Wings 48
Tail 30
 

The belly, wing and tail screws are the same size, but belly screws are flat heads.

No primer needed.  Just pic glue and fiberglass will work fine.  Lee

I quit the pvc glue. It does bond to the panels it doesn't add any strength.  MGS epoxy and 2 layers of 781 fiberglass cloth (8oz) fixes it permanently.

I replaced all the fasteners with S/S when I put the plastics back in, purchased them from a local hardware store fairly cheap, maybe 20 bucks or so
