Hello all,

Well I finally bought a mooney with a fresh firewall forward, new interior, and all of the landing gear has been refurbished. I am in need of the door linkage that will keep it from over extending and also the same thing for the baggage compartment door. Does anyone have a vintageM20a parts for sale?

Yes I know it's a wood wing and it has been inspected and is in exceptional shape what parts or years will cross over for my M20A?

I'm located in Texas near kerville and thought about calling them???

Welcome aboard Wesley,

The factory in Kerville is alive and well.

Try and give them a call to see what they may be able to do.

Consider determining the part number and description to see if parts from an M20B or M20C will fit...

Best regards,

The factory, of course, will have the official answers. My suggestion is to talk to the guys at Dugosh, which is the VERY long time Mooney Service Center across the Kerrville airport from the Mooney Factory. They have parts people who probably go back to the 70's. They will probably either have the answer or will know who they can ask to get the answer.

Congratulations on the new M20A!  I own/fly N8335E, '59 wood wing.  You got a great example as the previous owner in California took great care of the airplane.  I think I have an extra baggage door hold-open-thingy.  I made a new one out of 4130 as the originals are bit flexible.  It wouldn't take much to make the door hold open rod, either.. Joe in Bryan, TX hangar at KCFD.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. The plane is exceptionally clean and well cared for ! I am very happy with it. I had a grumman that was just as well kept.

If you do have the extra part I would love to get my hands on it and after further examination of its design make my own. It is great to have a fellow M20A owner near by! I tried to contact the web yahoo group on joking that group but have had no luck from the moderator approving my request.

As far as the paint it will be total stripped and painted during the summer months. The wings will be touched up and sealed while the fuse gets totally stripped for new paint. It just had an extensive annual with all the extra speed mods and jig for the control surfaces and landing gear checked.

Couldn't be happier !!!

Thank you sir for the information. We did a touch and go there two days ago. Little to my knowledge did I know that mooney was stationed there. Man do I love my mooney!

It's great to see another great classic in the air.

Thank you guys for the warm welcome. I will certainly have to make a door support bracket. We have a very nice EAA shop with all sorts of shop and metal tools. I will have to google the link and give Don a call. If I can manufacture it, I certainly will.

That's the Mooney that was at KORG. Can you share the story?

Anyway, congrats and thank you for buying and loving that aircraft. The wood wings have a special place in the Mooneyscape and hats off to those who maintain and preserve them!

i too made a baggage thing out of billet aluminum. I have attached the drawing and picture if that's the one for your plane.

Bill -- you are going to have post more pictures of your interior! From that liner on the door, it looks like you fly a Pimpmobile.

Is that crushed red velvet?

Hum, his wife won't ride with him...

Well I had talked to the previous owner of my plane about a possible trade for my grumman traveler. He was thinking about leasing the grumman to a flight school. He decided to buy a C model because he wanted a gaming 430 and other things that he knew would never get back in value from the A. Odell if were installed. Luck would have it that I sold my plane and was going to purchase a bellanca. Thursday night Greg flew the plane down for me to look at after sending a txt picture of all the cash I had. After inspection and researching the logs it only made since that this would be love at first sight! It is a well cared for plane and it shows! Am am half way on getting my A&P license under the instruction of two I/A's. The only thing the plane needs is paint and I plan on doing that this summer. It will be cherished and a plane I intend on owning for a very long time!

Nice one! I think that is a great deal.

Post some actual speed and economy numbers when you can. I for one like to know how fast an airplane can go at 6 gpH, 7gph, 8gph etc.

I owned a Grumman traveler,  I just got a 1967 M20 E

Mine needs paint too.

I want to do this myself (but won't)

Nice looking Mooney!
