The time has finally come for me to sell my beloved plane! It was a difficult decision, but I need to simplify my life since I'm going to be starting a new flying job and won't be flying the Mooney enough to justify keeping it. I put close to 275 hours on it since I bought it 2.5 years ago and flown to 12 states in her. I also got my instrument and commercial tickets in it. It's been a GREAT airplane!

I've tried to put as much info below as I could. Please feel free to email me or call me with any questions or if you're interested. I will be uploading more pictures later, specifically of the interior. The front seats are currently being reupholstered and therefore I waited to get any interior pics. Thanks for the info, Alan! I haven't had time to go through the logs and have a full spec sheet. I will say that it is the King KG102 gyro. I agree that you put a ton of money and effort into this girl. And yes, whoever ends up with it, is gonna have a great plane!

I already made my purchase ... But VERY NICE AIRPLANE!!!!

I am sure you will have no trouble selling her ... Still sure you want to?

I'd love to keep it, but it's just going to be too difficult to keep up with maintenance and expenses on commuter FO pay. Plus, I'm going to be doing a ton of flying. My wife and I decided that the easiest thing to do is simplify. I'm hoping that maybe in the future I can get into a partnership. Believe me, this was not an easy decision!

Kurt,

Great airplane.

Tough choice, but a wise decision - short term loss for a long term gain! I'm sure you'll have no trouble passing her off to another deserving pilot.

Getting paid to do something you love is my definiton of success. Good luck with your flying career!

Congrats on 795, she sounds like a great ship. Kurt was a great contributor and will be missed, but perhaps you can take his place?? I'm sure that's likely one of the better Bs out there! Heck of a value! Way better than the same money would have bought you in Cessna, Piper, or Beech land.

Good job and welcome!

Yeah, I totally get you. I too commute to fly for work. The last thing I feel like doing ... is flying another airplane ... when I just got home from flying several days ... even a nice Mooney. I have to force myself to go to the airport some weeks ....

Congrats on the new job. Keep your resume and logs up ... You'll be putting them back out there sooner than you think! I am on my fifth (and hopefully final) airline .... It's a wild ride! Sure you don't want to go to law school?

You have no idea how much "simplifying" Kurt has done. I swear he sold everything he owned, including the kitchen sink. I picked up a nice Brightline bag from him. Good luck Kurt!

My first year FO Commuter pay: $16,249. Based at JFK on reserve, one hour call-out. Good times! There's just not much that beats the fine experience of working for Hulas!

That makes me feel safer as a passenger! You didn't have enough money to have a drug or alcohol problem:)

Thanks everybody! Yes, the bird has finally been sold. She ended up getting a WAAS 430 put in her before she got sold. Jeff is super nice guy and it makes me happy the plane went to him. I'll definitely keep checking in on the forums. I'll never lose my love for Mooneys.

And yes, I really don't have much desire to fly all the time for fun since I do it all the time for work. I still love flying GA, but right now can't fly it enough to justify the costs of ownership. I tell you that it was an excellent investment for training. I don't know why more people don't buy an airplane and train in it. Beats spending lots of $$$ on rentals.
