I agree with dcrogers11 - I got my ECI done last year for $250 at H&H propeller.  I fly ~150 hrs a year - at $5k for a used prop I could get over 15 yrs ECI's to recoup the cost.  Not worth it to me.

Yes this is true , but you could sell your old prop for 2k and that would only be a 3 k difference , also take in mind that you can only over haul prop blades three times..... Now how many hours are on your prop since new??????  This is a new prop , not overhauled.......When you add it all up its a steal regardless of the AD... The AD is just the icing on the cake..... Also it is a big deal at resale.....No biggie , I will get 5K for it its just a question of when....

I agree your prop is worth what you are asking. If I had to buy a prop tomorrow I would give your asking price, but my prop is fine. When you listed with the OBO option , people will plumb for the lowest price you are willing to take. I have an advantage because I saw your post here and I know the reserve price. Everyone else will have to submit offers until you accept. I didn't offer on Ebay because I knew what it was worth to me was not in your range.

It sometimes feels like an insult when someone offers less than something is worth but OBO opens the door.

Try VAF forums. RV guys love those Hartzell props.

I will go that route , But hartzell sells the uncertified version of this prop new for 7 K so it will be a little harder on that forum , Thanks for the suggestion...

Who says you can overhaul a prop 3 times?.....

When they overhaul the blades they take a little off each time , after the 3rd there is not enough chord left to be in spec.... You are buying blades at that point.....Blades are more than a top prop conversion....

That is true when talking about the F7282 blade in the C3YR......But the F7666A blade in the C2YK is a different story. If the propeller they are installed in is taken care of properly, they will last many overhauls. Hartzell Manuel 133C will give you the new Dems vs min Dems. Whatever propshop says your blades are scrap after 3 overhauls, with just normal wear an tear, ask them to see the proof. I know plenty of people out there that are ready to sell you blade before your propeller is even disassembled.... I'm not trying to sound like a sour apple, but its true. What scraps the 7666 blade, an any other Y shank blade for that matter, is a crack in the bearing shelf on the blade. Or the pitch change knob being worn out.

I think we both agree that blades don't last forever , and we also both agree that new is better than overhauled , and we also both agree that the no eci prop adds value when trying to sell a Mooney.....

The price is certainly fair, but I'm one of the guys KSMooniac described that will continue to deal with the nuisance of the ECI on my 64C as I am saving up my pennies for my panal upgrade.  Fortunately, I live 20 minutes by air from Bynum Props in Fort Worth.  They charged me 180.00 last May for the ECI and let me take the shop pickup to lunch while they performed it.  I would love to do away with the AD, but right now, if its not broke, don't fix it.  I bet someone will come through with the cash, it just might take some time.

You may want to consider the oil-fill mod to your hub. Mine cost about $700 and was done during overhaul. Given the time/gas it takes to go get the ECI done along with the cost of the ECI, I figure I'll break even in about three years.

The oil fill only works at overhaul.....also there is a high occurence of leaks ...... I replaced a McCauley with a hartzell , because of the oil leaking...

I second that......... It's tuff to make them hold oil.

Yea , the mooney guys arent familiar with the oil fill mod yet , they have been doing it on McCauleys for years ... And they usually bleed red fluid before overhaul time...
