So I use foreflight and love it, and am thinking of going to a digital log book.  Curious to see what other thoughts are about which one to go with.  Digging to see if Foreflight integrates, but I don't believe it does.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Aaron

I have always written my own log book apps, the comercial ones don't seem to do what I want. I wrote my first one for a Mac back in 89. My current one is in .NET. The only thing I use paper logs for is BFR, IPC Etc.

I love the ability to query the database to see how many times I've been to a certin airport, how many landings I've done in Mississippi, and such.

I've been using ZuluLog.com.  It is online, there is a free version, and it does what I need.  There is an Android app for the phone so I'm sure there is an iPhone app also.

AvconnectLt. It works great.

I also use Avconnect and love it.  They provide you a great dashboard that gives you an overview of your currencies.  Their apps are easy to use and automatically download all your ATC flight info.  I created an entry to bring forward all my previous time, sealed my old logbook up in a waterproof container, and started a new paper logbook that I use only for training (my CFI likes to sign stuff), which I still import into Avconnect.  Best of all, its free!

I just looked at the Avconnect web site and some youtube stuff and they don't show example logbooks entries and screen shots. I find that strange.  Also, their free version won't keep track by aircraft type (something I need).

The aircraft type is connected to the n number - somehow they link to the database,   I flew a Citabria a while back, entered the n number and it identified it.   Does the same with airport icaos

I'm not sure we are writing about the exact same issue or I have worded it poorly.  Their "Plans" page states that the free version won't, "Track total time by make/model" whereas there $5/month version will.  It may note the make and model but not sort or subtotal on it.

I also use Zululog and am very happy with it.  And they do have an iPhone app.

I use LogTen Pro and am very happy with it. It runs on Macs, iPhones and iPads, and can be synchronized across all three. The publisher's website is here.

Joe great recommendation. I downloaded logTen Pro it works really great.

Log Ten integrates to Foreflight, or rather the other way around.  In the "File & Brief" screen of Foreflight a blue button shows up at the bottom.  Press the button and it takes you over to Log Ten and fills in the flight log page with the information from the flight you set up in Foreflight.  It tracks your Hobbs time, so if you are flying the same aircraft (presumably a really nice Mooney), the starting Hobbs time shows up, you fill in the ending time, and the flight hours are then filled in.  If you set up type parameters, such as Complex and High Performance (for post J aircraft) it also fills in your time in those categories.  It also knows the departure time from Foreflight, and knows sunrise/sunset, so will fill in night time.  You may need to tweak the times a little.  Works nicely though.
