buddy Posted November 7 Report Posted November 7 Does anyone have an idea of why I can't get the Mooneyspace forum on my iPad anymore? I think it may have happened a few weeks ago when I downloaded there software update.
PeteMc Posted November 7 Report Posted November 7 What browser are you using and what happens when you try to go to the site?
ArtVandelay Posted November 7 Report Posted November 7 No problem with either Tapatalk or safari for me.

PT20J Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 Interesting. I’m home now and turned off WiFi on the iPad and it works on the LTE connection.
N201MKTurbo Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 I’m having the same issue. It started last weekend. I cannot get Mooneyspace on any of my devices using Verizon WI-FI. This includes my IPad, 2 work computers, and my personal computer. My wife discovered that you can get it on the IPAD in private browsing mode. It works fine if I turn off WIFI. My mobile is T-Mobile. My Wi-Fi is Verizon. I thought it was just me. I’m sort of glad it is happening to others. I will call Verizon and bitch.
Jackk Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 Try Brave browser, vastly better and you’ll get far less trackers and pop ups 1
buddy Posted November 8 Author Report Posted November 8 I'm using Verizon wireless and ATT internet and can't get on MooneySpace with either. I'm using Safari and it's telling me it can't open the page because the server can't be found.
buddy Posted November 8 Author Report Posted November 8 This only happens when using my iPad and iPhone, I have no problem using my laptop connected to my ATT internet.

I’m on the phone with Verizon right now (there goes my Saturday) I think they finally understand the problem. Hopefully we can get this resolved. Funny thing, while talking to the AI phone bot who just told me there was a 938 minute wait to talk to a representative, I cussed it out with some very colorful language. It immediately connected me with a human. That has never happened before. 1 3
Jason 1996 MSE Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 I've had this issue. Started getting a DNS error on ipad and laptop but could access via phone - cellular mode. Called ATT, ended up changing my DNS selection from Automatic to Manual and used Google's direct code 8.8.4.4 This fix worked on both ipad and laptop. Not sure what's going on - something funky in the internet domain registry being changed. Haven't noticed this change screwing anything else up so am keeping it. 1
N201MKTurbo Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 Well I just wasted 90 minutes of my life. My call ended when I was connected to the Mooney Parts voice mail at the factory by Verizon. Strange. 2 1
MikeOH Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 No bueno on my iPhone with Verizon. (...server can't be found)
N201MKTurbo Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 Verizon kept trying to tell me it was Mooneyspace’s problem. If so, why does it only happen on Verizon?
MikeOH Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 For purposes of drawing out the experts that know better... What/who controls which DNS root server is used to resolve names? If Verizon changed which server is used and, for some reason, mooneyspace.com won't resolve on that server, then how does that get fixed?

I know this sounds reductive, and it is, but it's also how it works
Marc_B Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 Just to add one more data point...I have verizon for phone service, and when I turn off wifi (use cellular) I get "Safari can't open the page because the server can't be found." But when I'm using home wifi, then Mooneyspace works properly.

But when I'm using home wifi, then Mooneyspace works properly. That's exactly my scenario; and, I believe, pretty consistent with what others report. I also know that when I'm NOT at home I have NOT been able to access Mooneyspace on my iPhone for the last couple of weeks. So, IMHO, this is caused by something Verizon changed whether they admit it, or not. And, more to the point, I'm pretty sure they won't lift a finger to fix it. I suspect, however, that it's not just Mooneyspace that has been affected. Consequently, Verizon will probably have to deal with the issue in a time frame driven by how many other sites they've inadvertently 'blocked' (or whatever the proper technical term is).
N201MKTurbo Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 Everybody should bite the bullet and call Verizon so at least there is a record of it. I asked the help desk guy ( in India) if he was on the Verizon network and if he could try it. He said that was against the rules. He was talking to their back end folks, so I asked if they could try it? For some reason that was impossible.
N201MKTurbo Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 I did some digging on the web. It seems Infoblox is the company that provides DNS service to Verizon. Other websites have had this problem. It seems you can call Infoblox directly and they will fix it. I have spent too much time on the phone today. Maybe tomorrow.
1980Mooney Posted November 8 Report Posted November 8 It is not just a Verizon problem. I have Windstream/Kinetic internet and am unable to log onto MooneySpace using WiFi. It is the only website that won’t work. However, ATT cellular works fine, either on iPhone of via WiFi hotspot. Likewise I don’t have time to screw with it.
