What are other Mooney Turbo owners doing about AD 2023 09-09?  My parts are on order. It has been over 2 years since this AD came out and no qualified clamps have been produced or available for purchase (at least my sources say so).  Yeah, you can get AMOC, but the criteria for that waiver does not apply to my plane (1979 M20K). Apparently my clamps may be 46 years old.  It appears I am grounded until next spring when the required parts are then available!  Maybe.  I’m a CFI and ardently support compliance with all FAA directives.  But this is ridiculous.  This didn’t just happen, the industry & the FAA have know about this for years.  & now I’m grounded.  Grrrrrrrrre……

Have you tried the RAM pma clamp?  Some people have had success that route. Some not.  Sorry for your troubles…

No inventory until March 2026!

Is that the RAM part has no inventory or the original?

Yeah, I'm grounded too.

Unfortunately, TCM doesn’t have a replacement for the original one yet, so I don’t think there’s a good date on that.  I’m lucky that the MB&SB engines use a different clamp and tcm did make a riveted one available for us.  Older models are still waiting.  Potentially finding someone who has the ram clamp on a shelf could help short term?

I lucked out, My turbo J uses an RJ0193 clamp. I got a PMA clamp for $400. When I rebuilt my engine, I cleaned up that clamp till it looked brand new, It still does. I will have to make sure I don't get the new one and the used one mixed up.
