Columbia CA Fly In

I made a quick out and back today to the fly-in.   It was hot even up there in Gold Country.   Several vintage and newer Mooney aircraft flew in, including one Mite.


Thanks to Mitch and Jolie for setting up the Mooney tent, and for tending the wading pool which was a great comfort even at 10 am. 


Non-Mooney Note:   The "UC45" Beech displayed at O22 was a surprise from my past -- I was a USMC brat at El Toro in the early 1960s when similar machines were used for various "low-prestige" missions by pilots from AIR FMF PAC.  Back then anything with a prop seemed so out of date to a jet pilot's kid...
