Who here could control - and land - a Mooney by reaching over and manipulating the other control yoke in front of the other pilot position.  Scary!

How general is this incident?

I bet an AD will follow.

And replacement of all the yokes with new parts that don’t exist….Yikes is right.

Wow, I was thinking it was the yoke casting that cracked, I didn't realize it was the shaft.  Must have been a scary situation.

The picture in the airworthiness sheet shows the yoke being cracked. Either can happen I suppose

I pretended that I was in a Cirrus or Airbus and just flew side stick.  I was pretty close to home so it looks worse than it was.  Like a good owner, I was more upset by the looming repair cost. :)

That's good one.  I need to add this to my regular practice.  Flying the yolk on the right while sitting in pilot seat.  :)
