I'm so confused...

So I'm moving from a state with 8 characters on the plate to a state with only 7, so my current plate won't work (IFRRATED).  What do you guys think?  Here are the front runners:

IFR RTD

M20FLYR

231KTS

IFRFLYR

231QM

Bad idea to use your N number. Go on the FAA website, I got your address with a keystroke,  then I note you are not home and clean out your house.

Good point.    I'll use your tail number instead.

Except the thief will have to drive across the country or notify his homies near me and hope they send him a piece of the action. Honor among thieves? Doubtful.

On the N# and Home Address....   You can remove it from the DB.  My NY address I didn't care as they'd have to get past the Doormen. :D

New address when I get it changed will be blocked, but they still have to get in the gate if we're gone.

FWIW, you can get the address associated with any license plate, N-number or custom or not, for a fee.    If somebody wants to know where you live based on your license plate, the barrier isn't very high.

For a fee. Thief move on. They don't want a trail, as it leads to conspiracy to commit, which greatly ups the jail time. Look, any locked door can be breached, don't make it easy for the stupid ones, which most of them rank.

You’re assuming he lives alone.

You can put it into a LLC to protect your address or the cheaper option is to use a PO box.

Lol.  You give thieves WAY to much credit.  The average human woul have zero idea what an N number is. ;)

How about M20K231 ?

There's a whole lot less of them than there are IFR-rated pilots in any given state.

Definitely not 231KTS. :) The marketing department optimistically said it would do 231MPH (200 kts).

The best aviation related license plate I've ever seen was at the Seattle FSDO parking lot, a Porsche 9114S with plate "VNE"

That's what I originally thought, but another K owner was positive it was Kts.  Guess I'll have a little fun in correcting him!  (Should probably find some documentation first.)

To add to the mess....  I've been told by the 3rd party contractor that issues the  Lic Plates that I need to get a straight plate, THEN an Aviation plate and THEN the Vanity characters.  Paying for all the steps individually!  Sound really strange so I'm trying to get through to the DMV to confirm.

Remember at least the first year of 231’s came with IAS and POH in mph, not knots. So their advertising would be in mph as well.
