Any recommendations for a shop to troubleshoot an inop 2 axis unit?  Preferably in the South?

far as i can tell the brittain is well into the owner maintained category at this point,  my last contact for brittain repairs is no longer answering the phone.

I'd try the mooney service centers, most likely Don or Paul Maxwell @KGGG.

Most of the issues with the brittain system are with leaking servos and tubing. Get a brake bleeder / vacuum pump kit from harbor freight and start by isolating the connections to the servos. Connect the vacuum pump and apply vacuum to the system. If the servo doesn't move you have a leak.  You will find many write-up on Mooneyspace on how to do this and how to deal with the different kind of leaks.

go buy a hand vacuum pump with a gauge, disconnect the vacuum lines at the turn coordinator,  and start looking for leaks.

The shop that helped me upgrade my PC system to include Accutrak, Accuflite, and altitude hold in my C is located in Mississippi.  PM me for details if you want them.
