Jetman Posted November 13, 2022 Report Posted November 13, 2022 When I turned on the master, the stall warning is coming on over the speaker. Anyone ever have this issue? Thanks! Quote
Shadrach Posted November 13, 2022 Report Posted November 13, 2022 I’m confused by your question. How else is the stall horn supposed to sound besides through the speaker? Are you saying that your stall horn is sounding with the master on regardless of the position of the vane? Quote

Has the plane sat in the rain before this happened? If so, check the Cannon connector on the pilot side. It is in the cavity near the wing root (almost directly below the vent window). If your window seal is leaking, it will let water in and soak that connector. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Quote
Marauder Posted November 13, 2022 Report Posted November 13, 2022 This is one half of what a Cannon connector looks like. It should be made of black plastic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Quote

Thanks! The stall warning is normally turned on when the circuit is grounded by the stall vane on the wing. A stuck stall vane or a short to ground can cause un commanded horn sounding. Quote
kortopates Posted November 13, 2022 Report Posted November 13, 2022 Somebody likely leaned against it and the vane gets stuck in the up position, sometimes it even gets bent. Check there first.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 1 Quote
buddy Posted November 13, 2022 Report Posted November 13, 2022 This happened to me once after washing the airplane, try jiggling the stall warning tab on the leading edge. I found my tab gets stuck when it’s pushed up to one side. Quote
Jetman Posted November 14, 2022 Author Report Posted November 14, 2022 Thank you, I will check the cannon plug and vane. Quote
A64Pilot Posted November 14, 2022 Report Posted November 14, 2022 Try disconnecting the cannon plug, if the alarm stops it’s in the switch, if it doesn’t then somethings grounded in the wiring. I think I’d first start with spraying the switch with good contact cleaner, with the straw of course, then move on to harder things. ‘Don’t know about Mooney’s but some of those switches can be stupid expensive, so take care Quote

carusoam Posted November 15, 2022 Report Posted November 15, 2022 Wait a sec… That isn’t expensive… Until it gets heated…. Find the Fiki version…. There are pics and pricing around here somewhere… The Fiki version has a problem keeping its vane heater in one piece… Best regards, -a- Quote
A64Pilot Posted November 18, 2022 Report Posted November 18, 2022 Yeah I’ve heard the heated one for a twin Cessna get’s really crazy expensive. I’ve never bought one so I don’t know Quote
