Super glue to reattach placards?

What product is recommended to reattach placards on the panel that are peeling off? Regular super glue?

3M industrial strength double sided adhesive foam tape.  The foam thickness will compensate for any irregularities in the surface and the placard will stay on.

If you REALLY want them to stay on, 3M 5200 Urethane mastic.

It does take some time to cure.  Use blue painters tape to hold them in position until it cures.

Does it need to come off again, ever?

Use caution with super glue… it can easily get everywhere…. Making things look messy for a long time…

Test things… some glues can dissolve the surface you are trying to glue to…

5200? ….some day you may want to remove the placard. IIRC, you’d need to heat it (~200° F) to break the bonding of 5200.

Raising the temp of ABS plastic to 212°F is usually enough to reshape it…

Keep this in mind if heating is the method intended to remove something from the ABS panels…

I did say if you REALLY want it to stay on.

And you do not need to heat it to remove the placard.  You run a thin wire behind and cut it.  

Heat would be required to remove all the 5200.

I use double sided carpet tape for such things. Sticks well but still possible to remove if need be.

While I agree it’s severe overkill and is runny too so not good for this, but I used it a LOT on the boat and learned you could take a piece of .020 safety wire and use it to cut the 5200, use it to saw through the bond line.

If you really feel the need to use a strong adhesive I believe fuel tank sealer (B2) to be much better largely because it’s not bright white and it’s no where near as runny as 5200.

5200 is also available in tan and black.

Have you used it on a vertical surface (say, an aircraft instrument panel) without it running down?
