I need a new battery. Aircraft spruce said it’s around 30-60 days to land a Concorde RG-35 AXC. The RG-35A is also on back order.

Any leads on Concorde batteries are much appreciated.

If you can find someone who can do it, the conditioning procedure from the service manual may restore your battery. Nobody does it because it takes so much time and effort, but in todays environment it may make sense.

Might check with Aircraft Specialties in Tulsa. Not sure what their inventory is like, but worth a check.

Air Power Inc at KGKY didn't have any in stock. Said 90 days before they get some. Said their website is fed "fake news" from their distributer automagically.

Aircraft Specialties in Tulsa had 3 left. I just bought one. Now they have 2 left.

I heard about this shortage late last year. I bought a new concord to replace my 5 year old battery. The old one was working fine but I didn’t want to chance being out on a trip and needing one in short notice. It took about a month to get it from spruce.

Not advocating this...  I just saw a different model Concorde battery listed on eBay for over $2,000.  :(

Some of the turbine batteries go for that and more.

$2000 is just a warm up for some of the larger batteries.

If you can't get a Concorde you might want to try a sealed Gill.  I've had my sealed Gill for over a year with no issues.  If I recall I think it was about $100 less than the Concorde at the time.

Here is the word I got from a trusted source at Aircraft Spruce.

Concorde stocked up on on inventory during covid but they currently have a staffing issue.  Their  batteries are hand soldered and they don’t have the employees to do it as they did not return after the pandemic.

Gill has robots that solder their batteries but unfortunately they don’t have the materials.
