88N's cables are all there, amazingly. I do wish I could swap the mixture and prop around to the right positions though.

Check in with your new mechanic...

Swapping engine control positions can be done...

Getting new engine controls at the time of engine OH is a standard practice...

The challenge is getting the cable routing correct... 

Direct from a Mooney Manual somewhere...

 

Watch how some people organize their projects....

A few collect parts for a while before embarking on the installation phase...

This allows them to buy stuff at a discount when available...

I've been trying to find out if any of those throttles would fit a M20K - can anyone tell me how long of a cable is needed? I'd like to install a vernier style throttle instead of the push/pull one I have now.

Other than expensive....

I don’t think there is a reason to not have the choice...

Something your Local mechanic can give insight on... @M20Doc (adding a vernier throttle to a non-vernier plane) might be able to provide some better insight...

Those throttle cables look like they’re from earlier models.  I doubt they would fit a K model.

(I think)TMO May have added to the conversation with...

What if he wanted to buy a new vernier cable for his M20K...

is that as simple as ordering the right one?
 

Are there any STC or other limitations that would be hard to overcome..?

Nah, I was hoping one of Alan's would work for me. It's a "want" and a low priority one at that. No worries. I know I can pick one up from McFarlane or similar if I decide I can't fly without one.
