I need to move the E back to the maintenance hangar but it’s currently a tail dragger. Anyone have any good ways to hang weight off the motor mount?  To get the plane here they rigged some plywood and straps to make a platform for lead batteries. However, it now has a new motor mount and I don’t want to jack up the new paint and risk tweaking any of the tubes on the way back. An obvious way to do this isn’t coming to mind.

A plywood frame with wooden pieces screwed to the bottom shouldn't mess up the paint. (The bottom pieces are to snug the plywood against the mount so that it can't slide around.) Run some wood around the edges so the batteries don't fall off, too. Then drive it with your tow bar. To further protect your freshly-painted engine mount, put some towels or a blanket over it before setting the plywood frame on it.

Or go all He-Man and lift up the tail enough to put the nose wheel on the ground, and have someone else run the tow bar.

I'm in the same boat!

I was thinking of welding up a frame that would bolt up to the lord mounts and hold a Homer bucket of cement.

My tail is currently sitting on an upside down Homer bucket with an old airplane tire on top of it.

Trying to limit the amount of effort here. This will be the one and only time I’ll need this I hope.

I need to move it about 300 yards. Not sure a creeper would hold. Lol

I can't imagine that there would be more than 300 pounds on the tail.

I wouldn't expect it to do 300 yards day after day  but I would think it would be able to do it twice.

Just get a 1k lb dolly from HF for even less money (and bigger wheels):

Add a tow handle for $10!
