Hangar ventilation

getting some water in a hangar I own through a roof top wind ventilator similar to the one shown.  Not from the flashing but I think from the openings between the blades themselves. Thinking of putting in a solar attic vent.

Pros and Cons of doing the solar and open to other solutions.

Also getting some water in from the lower sides of the hangar.  This all started recently after the land owner did some drainage "improvements."  I will be going the route to have him fix it but curious what others have done in the mean time to stop water coming in from gaps under the sides and roof ventilators.

Have 2 whirlybird (same as pictured above) never had a leak, and it rains sideways in S.Texas

I have leaks everywhere except for the vent you show.  I am actually surprised it doesn’t leak...can’t figure out why it doesn’t...lol.

I used to have a turbine attic ventilator like that on a previous house, and it never leaked.   If it's leaking I'd suggest something is wrong with it.

You need fresh air coming in low on your walls.  You should have 2 vents for proper ventilation.

Condensation is the problem.   Water leaking in from poor drainage.

i have installed 100’s of these vents, no problem as long as they are turning.

The device seems to have a bunch of drain holes on it...

It might be possible that something has gummed up the expected drain mechanism...

How do you get to the roof to find out?

There may be some rubber seal between the roof mount and the top rotating bits... another roof top inspection to help with that angle...
 

Armchair PP thoughts only, I haven’t even seen one of these operate from a distance...

Me, too. We used to always cover them up in the winter to help retain heat. Never had any leaks in the several places I lived that had them.
