Mooney1 Posted November 1, 2018 Report Posted November 1, 2018 I am looking at upgrading to Rosen visors while my 67F is in the interior shop. Chief Aircraft has a range of 1968-1999. Has anyone else upgraded or have advise? I have the original visors Thank You!! Quote

Has anyone else upgraded or have advise? I have the original visors Thank You!! I looked at them at Oshkosh. I think they will work with a 67 but I would contact them with pictures of your mounting point and get them their input. They are nice, but many they are PRICEY!Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro Quote

I am sure there is a reason for that requirement, but I would love for someone to explain it to me. Quote
exM20K Posted November 1, 2018 Report Posted November 1, 2018 I got them when a mechanic cracked my pilot side visor with his noggin. They were same cost as factory replacement. Overall, they are nice to have, but they are *big.* There are two set-screws that you must be careful with so they don't ding up the headliner. en-route, being able to block a substantial part of the glare coming in the side window is the biggest benefit, i've found. -dan Quote

MARZ Posted November 1, 2018 Report Posted November 1, 2018 let me know how it works out - I don't have the attachment points outboard to make em work...and I think thats the only way the rosen visors work. my originals were attached to the center post. 1 Quote
bill98 Posted November 5, 2018 Report Posted November 5, 2018 has anyone used the Ram Suction mount ones? https://www.rammount.com/blog/2015/04/ram-mounts-new-sun-visor/ Quote

MARZ Posted November 5, 2018 Report Posted November 5, 2018 I had them but they would fall off unexpectedly in the lap. Quote

MARZ Posted November 6, 2018 Report Posted November 6, 2018 Thinking the trim remark was for the shade not the suction cup Quote

Not very practical in a compact cockpit. 1 Quote
Guest Posted November 6, 2018 Report Posted November 6, 2018 Doesn’t Lasar have a set of their own design? Clarence Quote

DonMuncy Posted November 6, 2018 Report Posted November 6, 2018 Take a look at the ones in my albums, that my hangar elf built. I have plans for them, or could turn out another set. Quote
wburger1 Posted November 15, 2018 Report Posted November 15, 2018 Mooney1, did you ever figure it out? I also have a 67F with the mount only on the center bar. I looked at the trim and don't see an easy way to install them. I sent Rosen an email and they said the 67 was on the STC for them. Walt 1140301 J.PDF 1140000 L.PDF Quote
Mooney1 Posted November 18, 2018 Author Report Posted November 18, 2018 I purchased the Rosen kit. They claimed that with my serial number it will work. I will advise. Quote

Mooney1 Posted November 18, 2018 Author Report Posted November 18, 2018 I did not go that route. Quote
Mooney-Mark Posted November 18, 2018 Report Posted November 18, 2018 Let us know how it goes. I have a 1968 C and I think the only place they would attach as well is the centerpost. Quote
carusoam Posted November 19, 2018 Report Posted November 19, 2018 Welcome aboard 61JK. What made the ram mount/visor useless for you? I have found all things that require vacuum, have a tendency to fall off after about 10k’ of altitude... Best regards, -a- Quote
wburger1 Posted November 30, 2018 Report Posted November 30, 2018 Did you have any luck with the Rosen kit? Quote
