Just read that a GA aircraft was escorted out of Trump's golf course airspace. Seems the plane was super fast and ready for a dog fight. (Had to be a Mooney) it was intercepted with F16s and found to be no threat after landing.

Not sure, but I was flying on the outskirts and heard the intercept on guard.  Sounded like a one sided discussion.  “If you hear us, rock your wings”. I kind of laughed, if they heard they probably would have replied on the radio and if they were listening to anyone they likely wouldn’t have been there to begin with.  Still, I feel bad for them...I hope I never have to tangle with an intercept due to a golf outing.  Last year I was down at Englishtown Drag strip and saw an intercept.  It almost seems like a routine occurance if I’m to base it on my sample of two for two.

There was one last year from Robbinsville NJ (N87) that Dave Matheson mentioned to me while I was there. Was in late June. It was a Mooney. Guy washed his plane and decided to air dry it in the TFR.

I’ve been getting emails from AOPA keeping me in the loop regarding the local TFRs...

And watching how they develop in reality with WingX from my kitchen table...

Happy to report... wasn’t me...  :)

Best regards,

Re Interceptions:

Decades ago I was in a NASA Queen Air over Edwards AFB (we were legit & on a data flight) when two F4 jockeys came by to have a look.

On the ground those planes look gangly and awkward.  When they come at you in the air they look a whole lot more purposeful.

I have always wondered how slow you have to go and how long you have to hang out in the sky till they need a refuel and you can go on your merry way.   Enough time to call your attorney to meet you at the airport?

Yeah but I'm sure they have about 3 hours of fuel when they take off burn the first hour of fuel getting there on AB then they have an hour or so they can play with you like a cat with a ball.  By this time the second pair of fighters or cobra helicopters have arrived on scene and the tanker is circling overhead ready to give them boys a drink whenever they need it.

Now low and slow might be the best defense and a total electrical failure in the plane,  However, the cobra pilots they live for that kind of stuff and they can go slower and lower than we can.

Be careful. If they find out you were screwing with them on purpose, they may send you a fuel bill on top of any other fines.

You don't want to pay for fuel for one of those!

Well you are supposed to slow down and pull over for the cops.   It has to be one of the sillier security theaters that are done.  Like they are going to let loose with some 40 mm bullets and explode a small plane and have all that fall down on the general population.  Dialing back the security theater around the POTUS would save lots of tax dollars.

Really?  So if they intercept and perceive a threat you don’t think they will fire?  WHATEVER DUDE.

Wow!  Those F16’s were able to keep a Mooney in sight until it landed?  Those F16’s are some FAST aircraft!:)

Hate’s a strong word.  I use it sparingly.  I hate War.  I hate Poverty.  I sometimes hate the actions of people, but can not think of anyone that i would invest hatred toward.  Whatever...

There are a few in between, F-20 Tigershark and F-22 Raptor.  Who knows about the others?  Similar to WD40, the first 39 didn’t work for aviation!

so here is an interesting thread creep..... We appear to have gone from F18 to F35, what happened to all those F fighters in between, did i blink and miss something?

by leaving gaps it allows you to go back and insert some really neat ones in between.  We had F105s, F100s etc.  :D

Don't forget the F-23 Black Widow (although only two were made as the YF-23 prototypes).  I thought this was far more attractive than the F-22 that beat it out.
