It’s the guts they can’t get. Same problem with auto manufacturing. They can build the cars but no chips. I think folks here are ramping up, but who knows when they can produce. I’ll wager the auto sector is hot after a way to be self reliant.

Please don't do that on here. Most of us come on Mooneyspace to get away from all of the divisive garbage going on.

Wut?   That was a pretty factual post.   I didn't see any political content.

The stuff about being too old to walk is still there, even though the last guy is 75 and famously needed help to get down a ramp (not everyone who's 75 needs help, but if a 75-year-old happens to need help, that's fine!).  Guess that's what "not being political" looks like for some.

Yikes…

A little supply chain stress goes a long way!

Long time, no see, Sandman!

Somebody was discussing high compression ratio pistons recently… I was looking for you.

I wasn’t going to weigh in on this, but fyi, when someone walks without swinging their arms… that’s a typical earmark of Parkinson’s. That would explain a lot of the other incapacities.

Don’t get me wrong, they have me looking at electric cars! Problem is, endurance or distance. Besides, I still like that soot producing diesel ram in the stable. Save the whales, shoot the seal’s.

Sand,

Find the threads regarding electric power… and Tesla…

Your insight may add another point of view…

Do I hear anything for "Save the ALES!!" Too much IPA in the craft market, only a little ale and not enough of it is dark ale . . .

I am with you.  I don't have the pallet for IPAs. I do enjoy dark beers.  In fact, the current beer in my kegerator is a Rootbeer Porter from a local brew house.

Anyone who can't keep their Porsches straight doesn't deserve one !  :-) :-)

Had an 82 911 SC here at one time  GREAT vehicles

Currently driving an 86 Rolls Royce BUT this has  nothing to do with the thread so

Back to our normally scheduled program-

AeroCruze 100 sometime in the summer? Hmmm OK I've heard that before also

We'll see

Interesting that BK didn't do any of the work themselves

Fake news!!!

Can’t be a BK announcement…

They included the year along with the season…  :)

“The company will be accepting orders soon and is anticipating deliveries to begin in Summer 2022.

Let’s see if @Baker Avionics is around…

Great news! Only five years left before they start shipping LOL.

I’m not in the market for another BK autopilot. When the KFC 150 craps out I’ll go with Garmin, but I do note this thread is approaching 4 years old

I don't know the full implications of this yet, but it's going around on FB:

https://www.duncanaviation.aero/news/duncan-aviation-has-stc-to-install-bendixking-aerocruze-100-autopilot-in-mooney-m20s

Not sure, in the world of STC development, what this truly means but with the amount of time it has taken to get this going I think the following quote from the article speaks volumes to the fact that they are still a ways away.

BendixKing has received STC approval for the AeroCruze 100 in the Mooney Series aircraft and is continuing to optimize the systems with an STC revision.

Makes me wonder after all this time, what does optimizing the systems with STC revisions means not only to the development of the product but to the timeline as to when it will be released.

Greg,

Let’s parse this one for a bit…

optimize the systems with an STC revision

Optimize

Systems

Document Revision

How does a documentation update optimize either hardware or software…?

We would have to look to the author of that one… somebody in the marketing department at Duncan Aviation?

Anyone want to invite the Duncan Aviation Guys to stop by?

Somebody there must have the knowledge, experience, and desire to take the next step…

Expect a YouTube, from inside a Mooney, video to help move the ball forwards…

Best regards,

That could be a simple document update in the STC package. Or it could be changes to the installation procedure, a much lengthier process to push through the FAA.

In either event, I doubt it will go quickly. Fortunately, my need is not great at this time, and I'm saving my pennies but not holding my breath to see whether BK will bring this out or if Dynon will get their AP approved for my use first.
