Hello fellow Mooniacs:

I am thinking of having my control yoke's either leather wrapped or powder coated.  Does anybody have any instructions for removing these things or pictures/video of the process?  There is just a PTT switch on the right yoke, but the left side has the map  light, interupt switch, and electrim trim switch.  Do these pose much of a problem when removing the yokes?

Thank you for any insight.

Indeed, there is a small set screw on the bottom of the yoke and a larger bolt that goes through the shaft.

Dealing with the switches is a PITA, but doable.  You could see if your switch wires have a splice somewhere, but failing that it is possible to label each wire and then de-solder them from the switches and re-solder when they're ready to go back into the yokes.  This requires A&P supervision, but it isn't difficult work...just slightly tedious.

I went with the Aero Comfort leather treatment and couldn't be more pleased.
